About ChosenFics
ChosenFics was set up to help avid fic readers easily find some of the best
Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel:the Series fanfic posted on the Internet.
In particularly, the
group was formed because of the feeling that there was lack of a good
resource for B/A fics in particular and a feeling that B/A fics tend to get
unnecessarily maligned in some of the other general fic groups.
We want to recognize EXCELLENT fic and encourage new writers to keep
writing and developing their talent. We offer readers choice awards to fics
that have been voted on by at least 20% of the ChosenFics members to be outstanding.
This is admittedly a high standard. We also feature fics that we feel are
excellent, but may be less well known. We are currently in the process of
setting up a Review Board as yet another way to objectively identify quality
fics. If you have suggestions for either ways to recognize excellent fics
or ways to encourage new writers to write, I'd love to hear them.
All genres (i.e., fluff, slash, AU, canon, etc.) are welcome as long as they
are B/A friendly. If a certain
recommended fic is not to your taste, you are always free to choose not to
read it.
The Yahoo Group list
is for recommendations only. Fics posted to the list
will be deleted. Fic dicussion on list is invited, fic bashing and even worse - author bashing -
is absolutely not.
We have a ChosenFics LiveJournal Community
where we do encourage you to post fics, drabbles, discuss fics, ask questions,
post fic commentaries, basically anything ficcy related that you can think of.
Host ficathon's there, you name it.
We currently only link to fics, but do plan to archive them in
order to keep the collection alive and well on the 'net for some time to come.
