Summery: Basically what the title is. Someone from the Scooby Gang goes and tells Angel about Buffy's mom or Buffy does herself. He comes there too be with her through the tough time.
Spoliers: 'Shadow'
Authors Note: Okay ever since watching 'Shadow' and the exchange between Dawn and Riley at the carousel. I am now more confused then ever about Dawn how could she know about B/A's relationship? She wasn't even around when they were together. I know now that a lot of us are more confused now then ever about Dawn. I think Buffy really needs to have Angel with her now since her Mom is on her death bed. Oh and over the last few months Joyce was starting too realize she was wrong about sending Angel away.

Buffy was sitting in her old bedroom crying and huging Dawn as they both cried. The doctor had said that Joyce only has a few more months too live.

They stoped and Buffy brushed some of Dawns hair away from her face and said "Are you okay?" "Yeah but I'm so worried about mom since she only has a few more months to live."

"I know. I need him." "Who Riley?" "No I need Angel he's always has been the one I turn too whenever something like this has happend. Riley can't help me through this but my soul mate can." "Your soul mate?" "Angel." Dawn noded even though she knew that but she didn't want to get Buffy more suspicious then she already was.

"Do you want to call Angel?" Dawn asked "Yes I do." "Do you want me to leave you alone?" "No this concerns both of us." "Okay."

Buffy picked up the phone and dialed Angel's number she had it on a card that Angel had given her when he was last in Sunnydale telling her that if she ever needed anything or if she just needed someone to talk too, to just give him a jingle it had two numbers on it she guessed one was for his place and the other was a cell number she was kinda shocked by the last revelation "Well I'll be damned Angel has a cellphone he's joined the twenty-first century!" She bairly ever used either numbers.

When she heard that the line was no longer conected Buffy got scared that something had happend too her true love and she didn't want to know she was suffering enough with the angst of her mother's brain tumor and that she only had a few more months to live.

Buffy's next step was too try the other number she called it and it was ringing. Her heart was pounding a mile a minute worried that Angel would reject her she wouldn't want to live if he did.

After about the fourth ring Buffy heard Angel's smooth sexy voice wash over her in waves and her heart picked up pace and her soul was singing. "Hello?" "Angel it's Buffy." "I know I can reconize your voice." Angel's soul soared at hearing his loves voice again. "How can I help you is there some big brewing evil down there." "No Angel I really need you right now." "Why?" "My mother she's, she's in the hospital and has a brain tumor and the doctors say that if the surgery isn't a success that she'll only have a few months to live. Angel I might lose like I would've lost Ford if he didn't want to become a vampire because he had a brain tumor also." Angel felt his heart ache in pain for Buffy he said "Well why are you calling me isn't that what you have Riley for!" Angel spat out his name as if it was something discusting.

"Angel Riley can't help me with this only you can. I still love you Angel and I wouldn't be at all surprised if you didn't love me anymore. I shouldn't even be asking you this or asking you for anything. I don't love Riley. Angel I haven't even had the nerve to tell Riley that I love him because how can I say it if it's not true he's told me nurmerious times but I haven't told him once. Theres only room for one man in my heart and that place is reserved for you only for you. I just really need you more then I ever have in my life." Angel's heart soared that Buffy loved him and only him.

Buffy started crying over the phone Angel said "Shhh it's okay Buffy don't ever think that I don't love you anymore because I do. No mater how bad you've hurt me no mater what you've said too me I still love you nothing could ever make me stop." Buffy managed a bit off happiness through her dispair and said "Really?" "Yes I'll be down there in a couple hours." "Meet me at my house I moved back home so I could protect Dawn from Glory" "Glory?" "She's the new big bad evil here that took over Harmony's job as being the evil leader of the vamps and be here with mom." "Do you need back up?" "Yes we have absolutly no idea how too beat Glory." "Want me too enter through the usual way?" "Yes through my window I'll leave it open for you and if Riley tries too stand in you way what so ever I'm going too seriously injure him." Buffy said truthfully. "Is the mansion still abandond?" "Yes no one's been there since you I go there at least once or twice a week to dwell on the past and it's not a vamp hideout."

"What if he tries the whole 'I'm a poor defensless boy from Iowa look on you' and tries to convince you that I attacked him or some shit like that? If he gets in my way of being there for you I'm not going to hesitate with kicking his sorry ass again only by my own will instead of because he attacked me first." "I won't believe him. I trust you with all my soul and heart Angel. Oh my god Riley attacked you first when you were here last?" "Yes I was only defending myself. I tried too tell you but you just accused me of attacking him because you believed him instead of me!" Angel said truthfully also with anger in his voice Buffy could tell he wasn't lying "Okay I'm going to kick his ass myself. Oh god Angel I'm so sorry for not believing you." "It's okay baby thats in the past." Buffy smiled at hearing Angel call her a pet name. "I love it that you called me that." "What?" "Baby." Angel smiled over the phone "I'm glad I wasn't sure you'd like it." "Oh Angel it's okay."

"Who's Dawn?" "My little sister." "Buffy you don't have a little sister your an only child." Angel said confused "Join the club I don't know what the deal is with her one minute I was an only child and boom I instantly have a younger sister who's fourteen she just droped out of the sky." "Well I'll be there in a couple hours okay? You can count on me." Buffy smiled she knew he was right she could always count on him to be there for her through this tough time with her mother dying "I know I can. How long will you stay?" "As long as you need me too." Buffy smiled even more "You mean it?" "Yes I do." "Okay I'll see you in a couple hours." His heart screamed "Say it!" "I love you Buffy." Buffy's heart flutered just like it did every time he said those three words "I love you too Angel." It had been so long since they were allowed too say those three words to each other.

Buffy turned the phone off and laid back on her bed smiling the first real smile she's had in a long time feeling more complete then she's been in over a year Angel still loved her she also felt a little more happier then she's been ever since she found out about her mom. Dawn came in and said "Is he coming?" "Yes Angel is coming." Dawn sat down next too her older sister on the bed and said "You really miss him don't you." "God Dawn yes I do. Everyday I miss him everyday since he left I've missed him everynight I dream about him. Everyday that he's gone from my life another part of my soul dies." "Does Riley know that?" "I hope not. I mean Riley is a really great guy but I feel like I keep on using him and he's not enough." "He is a great guy but he's not what you want is he?" "No It's Angel I want." "Then when he gets here fight for him." "I think I'm going to try."

They sat talking for a while Buffy thought it was weird having girltalk with her little sister thats what Willow was for but then again she remided herself that Dawn was a teenager herself.

Dawn said "How long is Angel going to be here?" "As long as I need him here. I need him to be with me forever but I know he has a buisness in L.A. so he can't." Dawn knew that they were going too eventually end up together forever she smiled at her older sister and said "I get the feeling your guys' time will come." "You really believe that?" Buffy asked hopefully. "Yes I do a love like yours and Angel's is one that you rarely ever find and one that will last forever you know that famous saying 'distance makes the heart grow fonder?" "Yes well yours and Angel's loves is one of those." Buffy hugged her sister and sat up she went too her jewlery box and took out the missed claddagh that had been missing from her finger for two years she slipped it on heart pointing inward and sat back down.

Buffy showed Dawn her ring and said "You see this." "Yeah?" "Well it's called a claddagh ring Angel gave it too me for my seventeenth birthday and he gave me this poetry book for my eighteenth birthday." Buffy said showing Dawn the poetry book Angel made for her. "It's nice." "I know I read it every night it's his feelings for me in writing and he gave me this silver cross when we first met." Buffy said showing Dawn the cross she hasn't worn since sending Angel too hell. "Wow Angel treated you like a goddess." "I know most of the jewelry I have now is from him. He worshiped me."

Los Angeles, California

It had been 45 minutes since Buffy called and Angel was busy packing his things he didn't know how long he was going to be in Sunnydale so he packed most of his belongings he was going too be there for Buffy and Riley wasn't going to stop him no mater what.

If he did Angel swore he was going to kill the boy for trying too keep him from Buffy. Angel was all packed and he got his car keys he put his duster on and left.

Sunnydale, California

Two hours later Angel had arrived in Sunnydale he drove too the mansion and put his stuff on the bed and went back out he'd unpack later. He was going to try to get Buffy back since he had recieved his shanshu two weeks ago fighting Dru and Darla at the same time and killing them and then facing Angelus one on one and he put the past behind him and had recieved his shanshu.

Angel got back in his car and drove too Buffy's house, he was thrilled when he didn't see Riley there and kinda bumed Angel so wanted to kick his ass Angel went too Buffy's window and climbed up he saw that Buffy had left the window opened just as she promised he saw Buffy talking too a young girl with brownish, blonde colored hair he steped in he tapped Buffy's shoulders and she turned around she flung her arms around Angel and hugged him tightly he hugged her back marveling at feeling her in his arms again after so long. Dawn said "You must be Angel." "Yes I am, and you are?" "I'm Dawn Buffy's sister." "I'll leave you two alone right now." Dawn said smiling she left Buffy's bedroom and shut the door.

Buffy murmered against his chest "Oh god Angel I've missed you so much." "I have too Buffy." All the lonliness she had felt since Angel left her came flooding back and she cried on his chest over the lonliness and most importantly over her mom. Angel felt her tears and rubbed her back and whispered nonsense in her ear and urged her too continue. She stopped crying when she heard the steady thumping of Angel's heart and picking up pace as he held her.

Buffy looked up at him and said "I must be dreaming. I can hear your heart beating." Buffy placed her hand over Angel's heart and felt the thumping of his heart. Angel gently took her hand and kissed the inside of it and said "No my love I'm human." "How?"

"Doyle and Cordy found this prophesy a while back that said once I furfilled my destiny I would shanshu and become human. I've been human for about a week now I still have some of my vampiric traits though like strength, healing, abilities." "A week and you didn't tell me?" "I assumed you were happy with Riley and I didn't want to mess that up for you." "Oh Angel you should know that all you had to do was tell me and I would've taken you back in a heartbeat." "This is great we can finally be together."

"Yeah I know." Angel had the strongest urge too kiss her.

He gave into his desires he moved his mouth close to Buffy's and she said "your going too kiss me now aren't you?" "Mhm" and kissed her passionately with all the love and longing he had felt for since that fateful day a year ago tomorrow. When he was human and had everything he's ever wanted and he was human once again he was given a second chance at life.

She was shocked at first but then kissed him back her soul singing at being reunited with it's mate and it was the same for him. All thoughts of Riley disapearing from her mind.

There hands started to be rediscovered with each others bodies. Angel's hands moved up too her face and she said between kisses "I....Can't....do this....I'm.....with Rile....." "I know" Angel said they continued kissing though they didn't want to stop "..I don't want......you to stop....though." "Me....either."

Angel moved his head down too her neck she moaned and ran her fingers from the top of his head to the base of his skull, her hands moved down too his upper back holding his head closer too her neck he alternated between kissing, sucking and nibiling down her neck. "Oh Angel don't stop this feels so right!" He moved back up and captured her lips again, Buffy's hands moved down Angel's chest and back up. Angel pulled away and said "Are you sure you want too do this?"

Buffy smiled at Angel and said "Yes I do. I love you and it's been so long." "I know!" Angel kissed her again Buffy's hands moved up and down his still clothed chest and she broke there kiss so they could breath and so she could unbuttoned his shirt too wear it disapeared into his black pants she removed his shirt from his pants and when she got to the last button she pushed Angel's shirt off his shoulders and ran her hand and nails along his chest and felt his rock hard mucles under her fingers he was certainly a lot more buff then when she last saw him and carressed his chest.

Buffy looked up at him and said "You've been working out."

Angel gave her his irresistable half smile and said "Yeah I've been lifting weights over the summer. Are you complaining?" "No not at all! In fact I like it!" Buffy said smiling up at him with those green eye's he loved he kissed her again and moved them towards her bed he laid her down on it and they continued kissing he kissed her neck and shoulders as he brushed his hands under her shirt. There was a knock downstairs Angel stopped kissing her and was about to get up to put his shirt on and get it she whined and said "Don't leave me just ignore it please."

Angel eased himself on his beloved slayer again and started kissing her. The knocking became louder but Buffy and Angel just ignored it. The door opened Riley walked in and said "Buffy?" No answer he went upstairs and opened the door to her room.

Riley came in to her room and saw Buffy in bed but she wasn't alone Angel was with her kissing her neck and he was naked from the waist up he shouted "Buffy!" They pulled away Buffy said annoyed "Riley have you ever heard of knocking before barging in!" "Not when my girlfriends cheating on me with another man and to make it worst a vampire! What are you Buffy some vampire whore!" Riley shouted feriously Angel stood up and went towards Riley and said "You will never call her names like that! She's ten times the person you'll ever be! You couldn't even defend yourself when I was kicking your ass last time boy, and then you accused me of attacking you first when you actually attacked me first because you whined too her that I attacked you first when you actually attacked me first! I was just going to visit Buffy and then you came along and started taunting me and then attacked me."

Buffy looked at Angel and placed her hand on his shoulder "He was taunting you too Angel?" Buffy said bairly able to believe that Riley would ever do such a thing "Yes he was." Angel said truthfully Buffy could tell she walked towards Riley and punched him in the face "How dare you taunt the man I love he's a much better person then you are and he suffers with enough remorse over things that aren't his fault and you make him suffer more you jerk! What did you do tell him about are nights of fucking each others brains out!" "Yes." Angel said "I'm so glad we haven't done that at all this year! Are relationship is just a phsycial thing with Angel it was real." Buffy said "You know how you asked me if I was holding back on my strength whever we trained?" Riley nodded and Buffy said "How does this answer your question." Buffy said and wailed all her strength and punched Riley in the eye he would have a black eye in the morning and caused him too bleed "You bastard I never thought you would ever pull a Parker Abrams stunt on me! At least when Angel was bad he kept are night together a secret thing between us two!"

She said looking at Riley angerly "Why did you attack him Riley!" "He was trying to bite you!" "I wanted him too!" "Your mine though!" Buffy looked at Riley with unbelief she said "I'm not a possesion Riley I can't believe you treat me like a thing! You claim you love me but if you loved me you wouldn't treat me like a thing but like a person, you claim you know me but the way I see it you only treat me as a thing and Angel treats me like a person and Angel knows me so much more then you do!"

"God I can't believe when you were dying that I actually said that no one knows me better then you I was lying Angel knows me better then you because he would've been able to tell if it was Faith and not me when she switched our bodies. I knew I should've gone to L.A. when it happend! You know I'm really sorry for the person I was last year because I allowed you to treat me like a possesion their were a lot of times when I wanted to get my word out about hating that, but now I'm going to get my word out I hate that you treat me like a possesion Angel was never as possesive of me as you are and too think that back in his time men were the rulers of the house and family and also controled the women." Angel said "She is not yours Riley, Buffy is her own person!"

Riley stood in front of him trying to look tough "what are you going to do about it!" "How does ripping your tongue out and shoving it up your ass sound?" Angel said queitly and calmly "What do you think Buffy is going to say about that?" Riley said confidently believing Buffy would yell at Angel for beating him up like she did last time he smirked and ran his fingers under his chin "I'm not going to say anything because I want him too! You deserve it!" Buffy said.

Then for the first time Riley noticed that Angel was in the sun and not burning "What the hell. I thought you were a vampire how come your in sunlight and not burning." "He's human again Riley which means that it's over between us!" "What is he doing here anyway!" Riley said icly pointing to Angel. "He's here to be with me and Dawn Riley." "Isn't that what I'm for." Riley whined.

"You could never understand the pain I'm going through like Angel can. Now you'd better get the hell away from me and Angel, and if I ever see you attacking or acussing Angel of attacking you again and not giving us respect I'll kick your ass myself and I'll rip your head off and if you ever taunt Angel again I'm going to pull out your ribcage and wear it as a hat!" Buffy said towards Riley angerly "It's over between us! God I don't know why I kept you around so long! God what was I thinking when I slept with you ugh now I'm going to be tramautized about all the times we've had sex for the rest of my life and thats all it was Riley sex, Angel's the only man I've ever made love too and he's the only man I've ever loved and will ever love!" Angel smiled inwardly at her confesion Riley said "Okay Buffy I'll let you go through this phase but next time when he dumps you again don't come crawling back!" Buffy rolled her green eye's and said "This isn't a phase Riley what I had with Angel was real and it's more real then ever now! What I had with you was a phase."

Angel stepped towards him and in front of Buffy with death, arrogance and pure hatred in his eye's he looked down at him and said "I don't think thats going to be happening again boy! I'm here to be with her for good! Can I hurt him now love?" "Yeah let's go out in the yard and do this though I don't want blood over my walls. Angel put his shirt back on and he brought Riley out with Buffy fallowing Angel said "Can I kick his ass now love? I have a score to settle with him!" Angel said softly "Be my guest Angel."

He punched Riley in the chin breaking his jaw and said "That's for kissing her!" He delevered another blow too his gut knocking the wind out of him and said "Thats for touching her." He hit Riley again and broke Riley's nose and said "Thats for trying to make her fall in love with you. I might not have my strength anymore but I can still kick your ass!" Angel delieved a kick too the groin and said "and thats for having sex with her and covering her with your sent!"

Angel and Buffy watched him squirm on the ground Buffy kissed him and said "Thank you honey! Let's get Dawn and head to the hospital to check up on my mom." Angel kissed her sweetly and said "Okay" he looked lovingly at her she said "What?" "I'm just marveling at how beautiful you look in the sun just like I always knew you would." Angel said pressing his nose against her hair.

They went back into the house and went to get Dawn they went into her bedroom and Buffy said "Dawn are you ready to go see mom?" "Yeah is Angel going to come with us?" "Yes Dawn I am." Angel said too the fourteen year old.

The three of them headed out too Angel's car, Angel in the drivers seat, Buffy in the pasanger seat and Dawn was sitting in the back. Buffy said "You got yourself a convertable. It's nice." Angel smiled and said "Thanks."Angel started the car and put the top down and drove them too the hospital with Buffy against his chest he had an arm around her shoulders and his other hand on the wheel and Dawn enjoying the ride in a convertable as her hair blew behind her and it was the same way for Buffy.

He parked at the hospital and Angel got out of his car he opened the side door for Buffy and Dawn to get out. He took a hold of Buffy's hand and helped her out. The three of them walked in with Angel's arm around Buffy's shoulders and her arm around his waist.

They went into Joyces' hospital room she was awake and said "Hi girls." Dawn and Buffy went over towards there mother and kissed her. She then noticed a third person with them and said "Angel what are you doing here." "I'm here to be with Buffy, Dawn and yourself. How are you feeling?" Joyce smiled and said "I'm okay." "How could you be here if it's daylight out?" "He's human again mom." Buffy said "Oh honey I'm so happy for you two." She turned towards Dawn and Buffy and said "Could you two leave for a minute I need to talk to Angel." "Okay mom." Buffy said and kissed her mother on the cheek and so did Dawn.

Buffy kissed Angel and they steped out and Joyce said "Come and sit here Angel." Angel nodded he was a little nervious since Joyce was the one who told him too leave. She said "I'm guessing that Buffy told you I only have a few more months to live." "Yes she did." "She broke up with Riley when you told her you were human." "Yes she did."

"Angel I'm sorry for telling you too leave," "it's okay Mrs. Summers it really helped me out and at the same time I was suffering for being without Buffy. It helped me out because I met this friend named Allan Francis Doyle and he helped me too open myself up too people and help them out you know to save souls and it's helped my confidence a lot."

"In fact I'm caught up on modern day technology like computers, pagers and cellphones." Joyce chuckled and said "thats nice, anyway I want you to do me a favor." "What?" "When I die if this surgery isn't sucessful I want you to take good care of Buffy and Dawn for me." "I will Mrs. Summers I promise." "Thank you. Bring the girls back in." "Okay." Angel ushered for Buffy and Dawn to come back in.

A few months later.........

A few months later the scooby gang had reunited at Joyce's funeral including Faith, Spike, Oz and Doyle. Buffy and Dawn were crying during the whole cermony Angel did the best he could to comfort them and Kate had put Faith on parol and she worked for Angel Investigations. Right now Joyce was being burried and it was the burriel ceramony. Buffy had her head burried in Angel's chest and he soothed her by rubbing her back and whispering nonsense in her ears. It was raining at the ceramony which means all the attendents were dressed for rain.

The priest said a few words and then Joyce was lowered into the ground on the headstone it said her name the years she was alive and loving mother. Buffy and Dawn placed fresh flowers on the grave and Angel approched them and did the best he could to comfort them. Angel knew the pain of losing a mother he had one himself once so he understood the pain that Buffy and Dawn were going through.

Angel said "I promised Joyce I would take care of you guys when she died. So were moving to L.A. and Dawn we'll get you enrolled in Hemery High." Dawn said "you two I think it's about time you learn the truth about me." "What is
it?" Buffy asked "Well I'm not really your sister Buffy I'm your and Angel's daughter." "Our daughter!" Angel said shocked "Yes I was sent by the Powers That Be to reuninte you two. So now since my duty has been finished I'm going too disapear and wait too see you again in the future."

With that Dawn disapered and Buffy said "Well how about that she's actually our future daughter." "Yeah it is a surprise, but I almost suspected it I mean did you see her she looks like a mix between you and me." "Your right she did."

"What's going to happen now? I promised Joyce I would take care of you I would've anyway." "I know Angel. So what's going to happen now?" "You are going to move to L.A. with me. Since my buisness is there and your going to be one of my workers."

"Yeah and I want too move to L.A. with you." "Okay let's get you packed.

After about a few bags and a few trips too Angel's car Buffy was ready to head to L.A.

Angel looked at her concerned and said "Are you going to be okay?" "Yeah I think I'll be fine in a few days anyway. I was never really close too mom anyway." "I'm sorry about your mom Buffy." "Thank you Angel." Buffy said and kissed him.

They got into his car and Angel started it up and he drove them too Los Angeles.
