Authors Note: This is just what the title says for once Buffy get's a happy birthday and theres a surprise in L.A. all of the slayers friends come to L.A. for Buffy's birthday. (Except Riley and Spike for obvious reasons.) This is the next story in my IWRY series it's my first series so you should probilly read the other stories in this series before this one.

Buffy was sleeping peacefully in there bed. Angel woke up and pulled on a pair of boxers and he watched Buffy sleeping peacefully and he found himself smiling at her he went to get his sketch book he had draw her sleeping he sat in the chair that was next to the bed he crossed his legs and started to sketch her.

It was the day of her birthday and Angel wanted to make it as pleasureable as possible for her to make up for her last two birthdays especially her seventeenth birthday she told him that her seventeenth birthday was the best one she had and that it was just the day after her birthday that sucked. He had called the Slayerettes and convinced them to come to L.A. and they could have a beach party for Buffy at Santa Monica it was a beach plus theme park since Angel knew that Buffy simply loved going to the beach no matter what time of year it was.

Even though to him California winters are warm compared to Europe's winters even though he loved Irelands winters and other seasons the climate was perfect in Ireland not to hot and not to cold and the winters were snowy he was thinking back when he lived in Ireland that this time of year there would be white fluffy snow all over the ground. European and New York winters were cold and snowy, but too Buffy California winters were cold basically because she was a native Californian. Angel got dressed in a pair of blue jeans and a blue silk shirt he left Buffy a note and headed out to get her flowers and an engagement ring. When Angel got up too his office he went to his desk and opened the middle drawer and pulled out his car keys, the sun was just rising over the City of Angels. Doyle was sitting on the couch in the office reading the Los Angeles Times and looked up and said "hay were are you going man?" "I'm going to get Buffy a birthday present." "It's Buffy's Birthday?"

"Yeah she's nineteen today." He looked around the office and said "Were's Cordy?" "Her agent called her last night and said he had a part for her in some new soap opera or for a snotty popular cheerleader on a new soap thats starting this fall." "Really I hope she gets the part. What about the party with the gang at the beach I had planed? You know just hanging out catching up and even going to the theme park Buffy told me when she lived in L.A. before she always loved going to the beach and Santa Monica." "She said she was going to join the party with the gang after her audition and that she might be late so that she could get a birthday present for Buffy."

"Do you want to get a birthday present for Buffy Doyle?" "Yeah actually I do." "Do you want to come with?" "Nah I'll take me own car thanks though man! Whats the condition of your guys' baby." "Well Buffy is having twins and there girls and there both healthy!"

"Damn it man you must've been very busy that day you became human!" Angel gave his best friend a laugh of agreement and said "You could say that we were increadibly busy!" He said mysteriously and headed out of his company and got into his black convertable.

He decided to head to the mall. They've done a lot window shoping when Buffy took him to get some new less broody clothes mostly looking for items for the nursery since Angel had an extra room in his apartment.

He stoped at the jewelry store were Angel was looking for the perfect engagement ring to buy for Buffy he wanted to buy the perfect engagement ring for her he went to four jewelry stores until he found what he was looking for it was a claddagh engagement ring only the heart was a diamond cut it was the perfect engagement ring but it costed $4,000.00 once again he thanked God that he had plenty of money too afford for her, but then again most of the stores he stopped at the owners owed him a favor so he got most of the prices for the things cut in half.

He wanted to have a romantic dinner for her after there beach party he used his cellphone and called one of the biggest celeberty restraunts in L.A. he saved the owner of the restraunt from a stalker and she told him that she would repay him by allowing him to eat at her restraunt anytime he wanted for any reason.

Angel left the mall and got back into his convertable and told the owner of the restraunt he wanted to have a table for two at 8:00 P.M.

While he was driving he saw one of those floral carts he got out and paid for a bouque of jasmine flowers.

Buffy woke up and didn't see or hear Angel but she felt the morning sickness kick in she ran to the bathroom and puked her guts out when she was done she said "God I hate morning sickness!"

She put on her bathrobe and went into the kitchen and saw a piece of paper on the fridge she took it off the fridge and read it. It read:

Dear Buffy, I'm sorry I'm not there but I had some last minute erands to run for your birthday I'll be back as soon as I can. Happy birthday Buffy.

Buffy smiled when she finished reading the note she went back to the living room and went to his library and see what there was to read, she saw the story she was reading earlier 'Valentine' she said "I never got to finish this." She took it out of the book shelf and went to sit back down on the couch. She started to read her story from were she left off.

It was her birthday but she was getting the feeling it was going to turn out how her last two birthday's did Angel promised he was going to make it better, her seventeenth birthday was a dream come true a dream that turned into a nightmare. Angel gave her a claddagh ring and then he told her he loved her for the very first time and then he showed her how much he loved her by making love too her it was a dream, but because of him showing her how much he loved her thats when it turned into a nightmare she destroyed the man she loved by gifting him with her love.

She took the book off the shelf and sat down in the living room on the couch and curled her legs on the couch and started to read were she left off. After reading a couple chapters of the book she put it on the coffee table and decided to take a shower.

Angel came back too his apartment with the buoque of jasmine flowers he had them hid behind his back and said "Buffy?" She came out of there bedroom clad in only a bathrobe and her hair was tied up in a turban style with a towel "Hi!" She went towards him and gave him a hello kiss he kissed her back with the same fire. He said "Hay I missed you" and then placed his hand on her stomach and said "I missed you too little ones!" "They missed you too Angel!"

"Go back to bed you need it especially if your carrying twins I'll make you breakfast." "Okay but Angel!" "What?" "Dr. Lisa said I cant drink caffine while I'm pregnant. because it's bad for the babies." "Got it no caffine in your drink so I guess that means I should give you Orange Juice?" "Yes that'd be best for the babies." Buffy said regretfully Angel made excelent cappuchino "Got it!"

Buffy did as Angel told her too and went back too bed and got under the covers as Angel went into the kitchen and started making breakfast for himself and Buffy. After he started it he went back into there bedroom and said "anything else you'd like?" "Yeah could you get my book thats on the coffee table?" "Anything my lady wishes." Angel said with a tone of humor in his voice Buffy loved this side of him he was so much more open, loving, better at expressing his love for her and much more romantic as a human.

Angel went to the living room and picked up her book off the coffee table. He picked it up and skimed through a few pages and said "Hmmm it is interesting." Angel brought it too her he said "this 'Valentine' book is rather interesting." "I thought you would find it interesting."

He handed it too her and she said "Thank you!" She opened her book and started reading it from were she left off while Angel worked in the kitchen he finished making there breakfast he said "Buffy breakfast." She said "Okay!" She placed her book on the night stand next to the bed. She sat down at the table she knew that Angel is a good cook.

He brought out the jasmine flowers Buffy took them she smiled and said "Oh there so beautiful! Thank you!" Buffy wraped her arms around his neck she smelled the flowers and kissed him, she got out of bed and took out a flower vase from the cabinent and went too the bathroom and filled it with water and set it down on the nightstand by the bed and put the flowers in the vase. She has notticed that he's become a much more romantic guy since he became human.

After that she went back into the kitchen and then Angel put eggs, french toast, and pancakes on two plates and then a glass of orange juice and a cup of Irish Coffee.

Doyle came downstairs and said "Do I smell breakfast." "Yes Doyle." Angel said and put food on a third plate for his friend. Doyle set at the table on one side of Buffy she smiled at him and said "Hay Doyle." "Good morning Buffy, Angel told me it's your birthday today." "Yep it is my golden birthday to be exact." Angel said "Doyle what do you want to drink?" "Irish Coffee man." "Right of course." Angel said snickering he made another cup of Irish Coffee only with more whiskey then he had knowing how much Doyle loved his whiskey especially first thing in the morning and then set the two cups on the table he sat in another chair by Buffy and they started eating there breakfast.

"He also told me that you are carrying twins, in your stomach." "Yup and he told me there both going to be girls." "I know Angel told me that too." Buffy looked around and said "were's Cordy doesn't she usually eats breakfast with us?"

"She's at an audition for a part in a new soap opera the part is a snobby cheerleader." "Sound's like the perfect role for Cordy." Doyle said defending his girlfriend "Come on she's not tat bad is she." "Doyle you don't know how she was like in high school" Buffy stated.

"Like you were when you went to Hemery High." "How did you know?" "From The Powers That Be when I found my boy Angel here. He was playing dark mysterious hero or batman including his apartment looking like the bat cave." "That's my Angel allright." Buffy said "I wasn't that bad was I baby?" "When I first met you you were Mr. Mysterious and cryptic, but after I brought you out of the shadows you weren't that bad. Even though I was upset at lurking on Thanksgiving because I wanted to see you but I couldn't and I was hurt that all my friends and Giles knew you were there but not me." Angel smiled and kissed her she kissed him back.

"Yeah but if you hadn't come here to talk to me about it then we wouldn't have this!" He said placing his hand on her stomach, "yeah but if it wasn't for me convincing you not to take back the day then we wouldn't have this at all and I'd be with cornball Riley Finn!"

"Why did you say that?" "Because he's from Iowa please farmboys for me I don't think so he'd probilly want me too be little Iowa housewife having all the babies doing all the chores, and getting un-aprechiated wearing overalls and dresses all the time and milking cows I like wearing leather and he probilly wouldn't allow it because it's made from cows! Ewwww! Please thats the last future I want!"

Buffy said rolling her eyes Angel laughed and said "Sounds like the guy defines hick!" "He does! You wouldn't do that too me right? I can't believe I was actually interested in the dork!" "You've got that right baby you'd be a private detective with the rest of us we'd be able too do that and still raise kids at the same time." "How do you guys like being detectives?" Buffy asked Angel and Doyle. "It's pretty great I like it even though we have an entire lack of investigators lisences and clients." Doyle said with a grim expresion "Thats why Cordy wanted to do a comercial right?"

"Yeah she want's more paying costumers and clients." Angel said "I don't like taking money from people plus I've got enough money to last me a few lifetimes and to afford you!" "Will you be taking paying costumers now?" "Probilly not but after our twins are born then I'll start taking paying costumers so we can sapport our family plus detective agency if Cordy gets this part in the auddition she's at then maybe I'll be able to do things my way maybe she will become a success."

They finished there breakfast and Doyle said "Well I'm going to go to Cordelia's audition." "Okay see you later Doyle." Buffy said Doyle left and headed upstairs. Angel said "Buffy go get dressed! I have a surprise planed."
"Okay."

Buffy headed into there bedroom and looked through her clothes she had to wear something bulky since her pregnancy was starting to show. She decided on a bulky red satin dress.

She ran her hand over her rounding abdomen she was smiling at the fact that she was pregnant with Angel's kids it was something she's always dreamed of having Angel's kids and said "Hay little ones. I can't wait till I meet you you'll probilly have your daddies looks he is so handsome!" Angel came in and said "What are you doing baby?" "I'm talking to our little ones you want to say something to them?"

Angel came over and placed his hand on her belly and said "Hay little ones I'm your daddy your mommy and I are going to spoil you two rotten and your going to be such heartbreakers you have two very attractive parents. I don't know how good of a father I'll be though I didn't exactly have a good father so I don't know how I'll do."

Buffy remembered Angel telling her what his father was like and she remembered him telling her that his father very often abused him, called him a discrase to the family, he also use too say too him 'once a scoundral always a scoundral' and that Angel had hot temper when he was mortal before which meant that when he was mortal before he got mad easily, but Buffy knew that wasn't the case now.

She kneeled down next to him she took his face in her hand and said "Angel you'll be a great father your nothing like your father your not a huge bastard. Your a sweet kind loving person and you'll not be the kind of father yours was." "I know but I can't help but think that."

Buffy said too her stomach "Don't worry about what your daddy says both your mommy and daddy love you very very very much." They got off of the ground and Angel said "Just let me get ready then will go. I have a surprise planed for you!" When Angel came out of there bedroom he was dressed in a pair of khakis and his red silk sweater placing his golden claddagh pendent chain underneath his shirt he was ready and they were on the road too meet the slayerettes. "So were are we going?" "Remember I told you it's a surprise baby?" "Right!" They got there shades and put them on and headed out to Angel's car.

They arrived at Santa Monica wearing their shades. Buffy said "What are we doing here?" "You trust me don't you?" "Yes I do. Okay continue."

Willow saw them coming and went to the other slayerettes and said "There here!" Buffy and Angel came in from the arch with Buffy on his arm they smiled as they passed the pier were they first kissed in the daylight and they smiled at each other. Angel said "look over there!" Willow said "there here!" "Buffy!" She turned towards the voice and said "Willow!"

They screamed and hugged each other Willow said "We've all missed you so much!" "We! You mean...." Angel said "Yup all your friends from Sunnydale are here." She flung her arm around him and said "Angel you did all of this just for me?" "Yes I did!" She kissed him and said "Thank you so much!" "Your welcome why don't you tell them about are little miracle." Angel said placing his hand on her stomach Willow walked with Angel and Buffy and they joined the others who they were all wearing shades. Who were sitting on a blanket.

Buffy hugged Xander, Giles and even Anya. She said "I've missed you guys so much! Even you Anya!" Angel said "Are you going to tell them about are miracle?" Buffy nodded and took Angel's hand with her own "Guys Angel and I have something to tell you." "What?" "Within six months Angel and I are going to be parents! Were having twins!" They were all quiet for a long time until Willow said "Congratulations you two!"

She hugged Angel and Buffy "yeah congrats Buff!" Xander said seriously without his usual sarcasm. For the first time Buffy and Angel noticed another girl that Buffy has never seen she said "No mean to be rude but who the hell are you?" Willow said "Oh sorry this is my friend Tara she's a very powerful witch that I met in a wicca group at UC Sunnydale." "Nice too meet you Tara." Buffy said "Yeah it is."

Angel stated then they moved to sit down and settled down for a nice day at the beach. Buffy said "So how is everything in Sunnydale?" "It's been really quiet lately hardly any vampire activity like the queit before the storm." Xander said "We found out theres a secret government agency in Sunnydale called the Intiative though and fish boy is apart of it and thats how Spike became a neautered puppy he was captured and draged into there underground lab they call him hostile #17 but he was an escapie. Also there was these demons called the gentleman and they turned all of Sunnydale into a silent movie and Giles' old buddy Ethen turned him into a demon." "Is it still like that in Sunnydale?" Buffy laughed and said "Theres also a secret government agency in L.A. also called Wolfram & Heart." "No we destroyed the gentleman with Angel's help."

"Oh yeah Angel came too Sunnydale to help you with that." "Why didn't you?" "Because Angel plays protective boyfriend well with me being pregnant and all." "How about in L.A. is anything going on?" "Yeah we've seen some pretty weird things. Last week we ran into a vampire that Angel had sired and then the week before we ran into 15 vampires alone that week who were hanging out at a bar but Angel and Doyle killed them because he's been playing overprotective boyfriend with me being pregnant like I said before." "You mean he still fights?" "Yeah he may be mortal but he can still kick vampire ass the PTB returned all his good vampire traits too him. It's sounds like Angel and I scared them out of Sunnydale and they came here."

"Also after Buffy moved here there was this group of full demons who were trying to wipe out all the half demons and we nearly lost Doyle. The leader of the Scourge who were the full demons trying to wipe out all the half demons used a beakon type thingy for there 'final salution' We would've been so sad if we lost Doyle especially Angel and Cordy."

Xander said with a grim expression "Can we say Nazi Germany?" Angel said "Thats what we thought we were surprised they didn't have the Nazi symbols on there arms what were they called Shawnzi's?" "I think you would know man after all you were around at the time." "Yeah but I wasn't in Europe at the time I was busy brooding in America on the streets of New York City I arrived in America during 1917 after WWI was over or almost over, too care about what was going on in Europe between 1939 to 1945 even though I read about the Nazi's taking over Europe except they didn't make it to my home country England stoped them before they arrived in Ireland and I read about the holocaust in the paper at about 1942. No one believed it though I did but then again I've done much worst things then the Nazi's did."

Buffy said scolding him "Angel no brooding! I thought we agreed that you weren't going to brood anymore about your past after you turned human!" He looked at her and smiled sincerly he said "Sorry baby." She turned towards her friends and said "This is the first time since he's become human that he's brooded."

"Were's Cordy?" Willow asked Buffy said "Her agent called her last night and told her that he got her a role as popular snobby cheerleader on a new TV show coming next fall." "Hmm Cordy geting the role of a popular snobby cheerleader sounds like the perfect role for her." Xander said materfactly.

"I know Xander thats what I thought!"

All five friends sat around talking and catching up Willow said "So present's now or later?" "I want to wait until Cordy and Doyle arrive." Buffy said "Okay then let's go on the rides then!" Xander said excitedly gesturing too the amuzment park that was behind them. Buffy said "I agree come on everyone!" Angel said "Look there they come!" He said gesturing too Doyle and Cordy who were walking towards them hand in hand carrying wrapped packages.

Xander said "Cordy!" Willow and Xander went towards Cordelia and hugged her she hugged them back and said "It's so nice to see everyone again!" "Who's that guy?" Xander asked gesturing to Doyle and obviously with a hint of jealousy in his voice.

"Oh right Willow, Xander, Giles and Anya this is my boyfriend Doyle, Doyle these are my old friends from Sunnydale even though Xander is more like an ex boyfriend of mine." She looked at Tara and said "Who are you?"

"This is my friend Tara!" Willow said "I sappose Oz is still gone? Trying to find himself!" "Yeah he's still gone." Willow said sadly "There here but do you still wan't to wait to open presents or not?" "Yeah since Cordy and Doyle are here I guess opening presents would be fine now."

"Okay!" They sat back down on the towel on the beach and Buffy got handed the presents. She opened Willow's present first she opened it and there was a couple Backstreet Boys CD's in it including there latest one since Willow knew she loved the Backstreet Boys. Buffy smiled and said "Thank you Willow!" "There's also something else for both of you." "What is it?" Willow handed them another present Angel opened it and saw insence burners in them with six different sents. Angel smelled them and so did Buffy they were sents of roses, jasmine, dogwood, lavender, rasberry and vanilla.

Angel said and hugged her "Willow this is so sweet of you!" Buffy hugged Willow also "Yes Willow very sweet of you." Willow beamed and said "Your welcome it catches the mood your probbily going to put them to good use." "We are Will!" Xander was next he gave Buffy a few more CD's and some movies something that represented at least one of them in the group.

Buffy laughed when she saw the titles "The Scooby Doo Movie." "Interveiw with the Vampire." "Clueless" and "Sabrina the Teenage Witch: The Movie." Xander said "It's a way for you to remember all of us including Spike!" Buffy laughed and said "Yeah as hard as it is to admit I do miss Spike's annoying attitude." "Well get this he misses you also." "Spike misses me?" Buffy asked bairly able to believe her ears. "Yup. He says 'I miss not having blondie around to harass!'"

Buffy smiled she hugged Xander and said "Thank you Xander." He turned towards Doyle and said "Sorry there isn't anything to represent you Doyle." He nodded and said "It's okay man besides I see Buffy everyday in the office!" Cordelia had a couple gifts to give Buffy she opened them and found some clothes including a leather cat suit and said "This for you to wear once your kids are born," hair pieces even a wooden one and jewlery including a charm bracelet with a couple charms on it. She handed Buffy another package that looked like it had two movies in it.

One was 'Cruel Intentions' and the other was 'Simply Irresistable' Buffy said "Hay both the main girls in here look like me." "That was the point!" Cordelia said Doyle handed Buffy his gifts' she opened them and found some baby stuff in it he said "I figured I'd help ya two get prepared by getting some baby stuff because when I was married to Harry we always dreamed of having kids of our own." Buffy gave Doyle a kiss on the cheek and said "Thank you Doyle!" "Yeah Doyle thanks!" Angel said hugging his friend as well.

Now it was Anya's turn she handed Buffy the box and said "Your probilly going to put good use to these!" She opened it and then saw a box she opened the box she smiling slyly and said looking at Angel with a sedecutive glint in her eye's "Thank you very much Anya I'll defenently be putting good use to these!" Buffy showed Angel the gift he smiled when he saw handcuffs in the box. Angel said "Defenently Anya thanks! Will defenently be putting good use to these!" Anya beamed and said "I figured you like them. Now you can have kinky sex!" Giles was next he gave Buffy a gift certificat for the Beverly Hills mall since he didn't know what too get her that was worth at least fifty dollars. Angel said "I have a present for you also Buffy but it's sort of something you give in private."

Buffy said "Thank you Giles!" The rest of the day the gang minus Giles decided to go on all the rides and eat junk food.

Buffy and Angel were sharing nachos and and ice cream. They were all hanging out together talking and catching up.

When they approched the game booths Angel placed his arm around Buffy's shoulders and said "I'm going to win something for you baby!" Buffy smiled he headed paid the prize for the game and started tossing the balls all three of them landed on the red rims the person running the booth said "The winner!" The person running the booth got down a gigantic scooby and handed it to Angel he handed it too Buffy and kissed her and said "I told you I would win you something baby!"

They held hands as did Anya and Xander and Doyle and Cordelia. Willow felt like a fifth wheel. Angel won Buffy a few more prizes and Anya won some so did Xander and Doyle won some stuff for Cordy and Willow won some things herself and so did Tara. One of Buffys prizes was a huge stuffed cheetah and Willow had a stuffed Pikachu so did Buffy even though she didn't care much for Pokemon.

Buffy said "Come on let's ride the roller coaster!" "Count me out!" Willow said "Me too." Tara said the gang put there prizes they won in the bags they bought and handed them to Willow and Tara and the rest of them headed towards the rollercoaster Buffy then remembered she was pregnant and pouted "Damn I can't go on!" "Why not Buffy?" "Because of this." She said placing her hand on her stomach "Oh your pregnant." "If I do then I might have a mis-carriage. The rest of you have fun."

"I'm staying with Buffy." Angel said "okay it's your loss Angel." Cordelia said then wrinkled her nose at how it sounded and said "That just sounded like the old me didn't it?"

Willow, Xander, Angel and Buffy looked at Cordelia they nodded and said "Yes Cordy it did." "Sorry." She said sincerly. Willow and Xander were shocked by Cordelia's change in attitude this was not the Cordelia Chase who had harrased them for years. Cordelia, Doyle, Xander and Anya all got inline for the rollercoaster. Willow said asking Buffy and Angel "What happend to the Cordy we all use to know and despise?" Angel said "She's matured a lot Willow just like it seems like that Xander has matured a lot." "Yeah Wills what changed her is that her father lost all there money to the IRS and it made her realize that life is not some fairy tail."

Buffy nodded and said "She still has her attitude but she's not nearly as much of a bitch as she was when she lived in Sunnydale." "I can tell that." Willow said the four of them went to sit near the roller coaster waiting for there friends to get off Angel had his arm around Buffy's shoulder and she snuggled against him.

He looked down at her and smiled "So how's your birthday so far baby?" Buffy smiled at him she kissed him passionately and said "One of the best birthdays ever well except my seventeenth birthday that was my best birthday ever!" He kissed her temple and she smiled at the sweet gesture.

Buffy and Angel sat staring out at the pacific ocean Buffy placed her hand between Angel's legs and he took a hold of her hand. Angel smiled down at her and she smiled back. Buffy said "Are you going to give me my gift now?" Angel nodded and decided to propose now he got both of Buffy's parents blessings including Giles' except Hank was reluctant until Joyce talked too him and told him to give Angel a chance.

Hank did and he ended up really liking Angel he was such a mature responsible young man of course being told that Angel ran his own buisness helped out a lot he was more mature then Buffy's past boyfriends and he and Joyce could tell that Angel wasn't just marrying her because he got her pregnant he was marrying her because he loved her more then anything in the world.

Angel got down on one knee Buffy's heart speed up she knew what he was going to do. Angel took a hold of Buffy's hand he kissed it and said "Buffy I have loved you ever since the first time I saw you. When I saw you that afternoon outside of Hemery High before you were called to your destiny I knew at that moment that everything I had done in my life happend for a reason to guide me too you. I love you more then anything in this entire world I have ever since I first saw you." "Angel what are you trying to say?" Angel reached into the back pocket of his Khaki's and said "Buffy Anne Summers" He opened the jewlery box in front of her "Will you marry me?" Buffy looked at the ring it was a silver claddagh ring only the heart was cut with an emerald.

Buffy said "Yes Angel Yes what else would I say!" Angel smiled broadly and slipped the ring onto Buffy's ring finger. The whole time Buffy had tears of happiness streaming down her face it really was her best birthday ever next too her seventeenth birthday when Angel told her he loved her for the very first time on her birthday. The rest of the gang came up too them they told everyone there news.

After about an hour of hugging and congragulating Xander, Anya, Willow, Tara and Giles all had to head back too Sunnydale and Angel, Buffy, Cordy and Doyle got into there cars and headed back to Angel Investigations after the four of them watched the sunset together.
