Authors Note: I got the idea to write this when I was watching the episode 'Angel' and reading Cass' story 'When The World Turned Right' at the same time.
Timeline: Two months after 'Angel' the episode which means that this is probably takes place about maybe when 'Prophesy Girl' was on.
Couples: Buffy/Angel of course and a little bit of Xander/Willow mixed in, but Xander and Willow are not dating.

Buffy Summers and her two best pals Willow Rosenburg and Xander Harris were hanging out at the Bronze Willow and Xander were talking about something, Buffy was in her own world thinking about Angel, Angel the handsome vampire with a soul who has stolen her heart and who she fell in love with when she first saw him after she kicked him on his ass behind the Bronze on her first night in Sunnydale. It had been two months since they said there good-bye as well as the last time she has seen him at the Bronze and kissing good-bye.

Every night since that night she dreamed of the same thing her and Angel being together she didn't care what he was she didn't care that he couldn't go out in the sun, or breathe or do other human activities she loved him so much even if he was a vampire all she cared about was being in his arms and kissing his sweet soft cool lips when he kissed her the first time it so unbelievable. The next song started playing

Angel was in the shadows watching her wishing he could be touching her kissing her running his fingers through her silky hair.

Why did Angel have to love Buffy so much it would be easier for him if he didn't fall in love with her, he didn't deserve her and he knew that. These last couple months that he's been staying away from her have been the worst of his long life.

His need and want for her grew over these last couple months he remembered when he first saw her that bright afternoon in Los Angeles when she was called to her destiny he fell in love with her right then and there she was the most beautiful person he'd ever seen in his whole life he had never loved anyone until he saw her. If he could blush he would've turned very red he had never felt those feelings for a women before usually his track record consisted of meeting, mating, and dumping.

Buffy felt him nearby Willow and Xander were dancing which means she got to be left alone too mope over Angel she remembered the last time she was at the bronze with him.

Angel was debating with himself his heart and soul all telling him to go and dance with her but everything else telling him to just lurk in the shadows. He decided just to watch her lurk in the shadows follow her and protect her.

Buffy remembered the last time she saw him.

I had come to the bronze with the motivation too kill Angel because I thought he attacked my mother I shot at him a couple times and missed both times which I meant to. "Why why didn't you just attack me when you had the chance was it a joke to make me feel for you and then.... I've killed a lot of vampires I've never hated one before!" "It feel's good doesn't it? Feels simple?" "I invited you into my home and you attacked my family!" He then said "Why not I killed mine. I killed there friends and there friends children a hundred years I offered an ugly death to everyone I met and I did it with a song in my heart."

"What changed?" "I fed on a girl about your age, beautiful dumb as a post, but a favorite among her clan." "Her clan?" "Romani gypsies the elders conjured the perfect punishment for me. They restored my soul." "Why they were all out boils and blinding torment?" "When you become a vampire the demon takes your body but it doesn't get your soul that's gone no conscience no remorse it's an easy way to live you have no idea what it's like to have done the things I've done, and to care. I haven't fed on a living human being since that day." "So you started with my mom?" "I didn't bite her!" He had said seriously "Then why didn't you say something?" "but I wanted too I can walk like a man, but I'm not one. I wanted to kill you tonight."

They had reached an understanding then Darla ruined there moment, but now Buffy wished with all her heart and soul that she could just see Angel for just a couple minutes.

Buffy watched Willow and Xander dancing on the dance floor dancing just as a friend even though the look on Willow's face Buffy could tell that Willow wished it was more. Even if Willow and Xander were just friends Buffy envied Willow because she was dancing with someone she loves for more then just a friend Buffy also felt like a fifth wheel even if they were all just friends.

She didn't care that he was a vampire she loved him all of him ever since she first saw him. She wondered when he said that he has gone almost one hundred years without killing someone. She wondered how he fed to make it look like he is a normal strong healthy young man.

The song faded to end and Willow and Xander came back to the table Buffy said "I'm going to call it a night." Willow and Xander said there goodbyes too her and she left. Angel watched her go from the shadows Buffy felt him she turned to were she was sensing him but no one was there.

Buffy started walking along the street and she felt Angel again she decided to do a quick sweep of patrol in the cemetery she felt her spider-senses go off only she felt her hairs on the back of her neck prickle and her heart rate picked up pace she knew who it was he was the only one who could cause that reaction on her and she smiled "Okay if your going to follow me why don't you stop lurking in the shadows and keep me company."

Angel came out of the shadows wearing his usual ensemble tight ass framing black jeans, white shirt and his leather jacket that covered his broad muscular chest thinking about the delicious body that the shirt and jacket covered. He said "How did you know I was following you?" "My spider senses you set them off differently then other vampires do." "Is that good or bad?" "It depends" "Depends on what?" "If you will kiss me or not." "Buffy you know...." She rolled her eyes and said "Yeah yeah yeah this cant be anything. Why not?" "You know why." "Oh is it because of the whole slayer, vampire thing." "Well yeah" "So I don't care, I don't see what the big deal is." "Buffy were supposed to be natural enemies."

"Like I said so what if you're a vampire you're different from the others, you have conscience you have thoughts and feelings I--I love you I have ever since I first met you, but do you Angel do you love me?" Buffy asked in an unsure voice that Angel's heart ached "Of course I do Buffy I have ever since I first saw you."

"Then why wont you give us a chance?" "Because I'm afraid of what might happen!" "Nothing will happen what could?" "I might hurt you I mean whenever things become too much or get to intense between us I....." He said gesturing to his face "you know vamp out!" "You could never hurt me. All my heart is telling me is good things if we get together. Come on Angel listen too your heart for once. What is your heart telling you too do?"

Angel did what she asked "My heart is just saying yes everything inside of me is saying yes give us a chance except my mind is saying no." "Don't listen too your head listen too your heart." He had to kiss her Angel pulled her into his arms and kissed her sweetly she kissed him back only increased it and soon they were kissing passionately. When Buffy pulled away to catch her breath she said tracing a couple fingers along his cheekbone "See now that wasn't so bad was it? So does this mean your going to give us a chance?"

His response was bending his head down and capturing her lips in another kiss she kissed him back and she wrapped her arms around his neck and he placed his hands on her back pulling her closer to him.

He pulled away from Buffy and smiled at her "Does that answer your question?" "Yes it does" there lips met in another kiss that was full of fire and passion. Angel freaked when he felt himself change and he averted his face away Buffy said "Hay!" and brought his face back towards her he looked ashamed Buffy said "Hay don't do that I love you all of you." "What about my face?" "What about it?"

"Angel I don't see the face of a monster I see the face of a man" she traced her fingers along the ridges and wrinkles of his face and said "I don't see ridges and wrinkles, you want to know what I see?" "What?" "I see your handsome perfect features I don't see a weird nose I still see your perfectly shaped and sharp roman nose these lips are still soft and cool too me and there the sweetest things I've ever tasted and I love these fangs."

She kissed him full on his vampire mouth in the back of Angel's head he heard Darla silky, sexy, seductive voice 'What did you think did you think she would understand that she would look at your face, your true face and give you kiss?' Angel laughed at her voice in his mind and said 'yes she does she is' he kissed Buffy back with all the love and gratitude he felt at the moment he felt so human more human then he's been in a long time.

They pulled away when they heard a queen's accent say "Well isn't this a lovely picture." They looked at the intruder annoyed Angel morphed back into his human face they saw a figure come out of the shadows and said "I was wondering how long it would take you two kids to come to your senses." The figure was short and badly dressed "Who are you and why the hell are you interrupting us." "Angel here will tell you who I am sweet thing." She looked towards Angel and said "You know this guy."

Angel said simply "We've met""Well then who is he?" "His name is Whistler he's a good demon who works for The Powers That Be he balances out the fight between good and evil, because everything has to balance out and he makes sure that everything does." "I see and how did you meet him?" "All I'm saying is that I met him New York City."

"Okay then Whistler why are you interrupting us?" "I was sent by the big guys too see if you two were together by now." "Why?" "'Cause The Powers That Be were testing you two love birds too see if your love was pure and true or if it was just some sort of infatuation. You know too see if you two have a love that went very deep into your souls and not just in your heads, they were very pleased with what they saw. Your love is so strong, so deep, and it's real that the Powers That Be have lifted a burden." "What burden?" Buffy asked "Sorry sweet heart cant tell ya that. You'll learn when the time comes."

With that Whistler vanished into the shadows Angel said "How does he do that!" "I don't know I wonder if it has something to do with being a good demon, he rubbed off on you, you always use to do that! Walk me home?" "Sure come on." Angel took her hand and they left the cemetery.

She was glad it was Friday there was no school tomorrow, Buffy was dying to tell Willow that she and Angel were finally together. Willow picked up and said "Hay Will guess what?" "What?" "Angel and I are together!" "Oh my God that's so wonderful!" "I know!" "How did you do it I mean he had the whole 'this can never be anything' deal going on." "I convinced him!" Buffy said proudly "How?"

"First I told him that he sets of my slayer senses different then other vampires, then he asked me if it was good or not and I said 'it depends if you kiss me or not, then he got all 'Buffy you know this cant be anything' then I asked him why and then he said 'Buffy we're supposed to be mortal enemies' and then I refused to believe then I told him that I don't care about that, then I asked him 'why don't you give us a chance'" "What did he say?"

Willow asked anxious for Buffy's news of how she got Angel "He is so thoughtful he said 'because I'm afraid of what might happen and I might hurt you' then I told him that 'you wont hurt me' and then I asked him 'why don't you listen to your heart for once if it's like my heart then all it says is yes and nothing but yes and that only good things will happen' so he did what I asked and then he kissed me we kissed for a while he then transformed into a grr and averted his face away from me then I brought his head back too look at me and told him that I didn't notice his vampire features and kissed him fully on his vampire mouth and everything." "Why did his face transform into a grrr I thought that only happened when vampires get hungry or angry." "I think Angel told me like that when we kiss or when things become too much between us his demon comes out to play." Willow said "Ohh I guess that would explain it."

Buffy talked to Willow a little longer and told her about Whistler and what he said. "So this Whistler good demon person said that yours and Angel's love is so strong that it lifted a burden. Do you or Angel have any idea what he was talking about?" "No we don't have a clue about what Whistler meant all that he said is that we will know in time and then he did that disappearing act that Angel use to be so good at. It makes me think that Whistler rubbed off on Angel." "He probably did if Angel said that they've met."

Willow heard her mom say "Willow are you ready for bed?" "In a moment mom." Willow shouted she turned back too the phone and said "Sorry my mom wants me too go to bed." "Okay sweet dreams." "You too" Willow said Buffy hung up the phone and went to her closet and changed into her night clothes and them brushed her hair out and crawled under her covers and fell into the first peaceful sleep she's had in two months.

He was having mixed emotions about them being in a relationship he loved her and she told him he told her that he loved her ever since he first saw her also worry like what if his demon would get set free again he would most likely have Buffy be his obsession that's the main reason he didn't think it'd be a good idea for them to be in a relationship because he was afraid of his demon getting free again and hurting Buffy.

He just pushed it too the back of his mind and focused on the good feelings of them being together. He was so wrapped up in his thoughts he failed to notice that the sun was rising into the sky Angel said "I love you Buffy" he waited for the sun to burn his body but all he felt was the warmth of the sun.

"Okay this is weird" then he remembered Whistlers word 'a burden will be lifted' *my vampirism is my burden that's what Whistler was talking about!* He went towards Buffy house he went up to her bedroom he crawled up her window and went into her bedroom.

He went into her bedroom she wasn't there he wondered were she was but the when he heard the shower running and figured she was in the shower. He stepped in and sat on her wicker chair purposely having the sun shining on him. He heard the bathroom door open she came into her room and saw Angel in the sun she said "Oh God Angel what are you doing your going to get yourself killed!" He didn't move he said "it's okay Buffy I'm human" "human!"

She sat down on his lap in the wicker chair and placed her hand over his heart and felt it beating "Oh God I-I feel your heart beating! How?" "I don't know maybe we should check with Giles." "Let's go" they crawled out of her window and went out into the sunlight Angel winced painfully Buffy said "Are you okay?" "My eyes need to get used to the daylight."

"Oh come on let's go" he put his arm around Buffy's shoulders and on there way to the library Whistler showed up again and said "I see you two kids got The Powers That Be's little surprise." "Yeah so does this mean he's completely human?"

"Well he still has his strength, healing powers, and agility because The Powers That Be want you two too still work together, but other then those small details he's completely human. Cherish your love you two have got something most people spend there entire lives looking for, and please remember destiny has blessed you both with finding each other your other half. Whenever things go wrong in your relationship and always remember that." With that he vanished again.

Angel lifted Buffy up and spun her around a few times then he set her back down and they continued kissing after a while they continued walking while Buffy listened to his beating heart.
