Loving You
Summery: What was
Buffy's dream and Cordelia's vision really about? In this part you'll find
out.
Author's Notes: This is the third in the series Destiny's Wake. I plan to carry this on
for at least five or six parts. What do you think, should I continue this
series?
"Or something." he answered. He thought they might as well make a better version then last time.
Without fail, Buffy carried on the remake, "I guess we got a little carried away with the whole 'post-slayer nap' thing." they both gave a little laugh, and she reached up to touch her hair. It was way creepy that she had a big tangled knot, just like last time. He laughed as she said, "Oh no, not good." she moved to get out of bed, she was very aware that she had no clothes on, but it was nothing he hadn't seen before.
"Where you goin?" he asked, slightly amused at the way that morning two years ago was playing out again.
"I'm going to kill the cat on my head." she said, combing her fingers though the tangled mass of hair.
Even though this wasn't true anymore he said it anyway, "No mirrors." she made a semi-exasperated sound.
"You know this place isn't really girl friendly," she said, then elaborated, "No mirrors, no natural light..." he cut her off.
"I think you look perfect." at least that was definitely true according to him.
She acted skeptical, even though she knew that he always saw her as a beauty, "Oh yea, I really look...okay." she agreed then snuggled back into his warm embrace. "That was fun." she said.
"If only we could redo that whole sewer thing." he said, feeling guilty again.
"Hey." she scolded lifting her head up to face him, "Ancient history, let's just put it all behind us and enjoy what we have now." he nodded, she was about to put her head back down when she said, "And absolutely no brooding." he chuckled and she placed her head back on his chest. "Angel?"
"Hmm?" she answered.
"How many languages can you speak fluently?" she hadn't found that out. He'd only said short phrases to her in Gaelic, like 'my goddess' 'my beauty' that sort of thing.
"Seven." he told her, not wanting to brag, but it was true.
"Wow, where did you learn to speak them?" she was feeling curious because she had never asked these questions before.
"Gaelic was my crib language. My grandmother used to sing to me. She called me (bare with me I'm making this up) Mo soliel, which means 'my sunshine'. Then when I met Darla and became a vampire I learned Romadi, French, American, and three demon languages."
"Cool. I wish I knew how to speak french fluently through high school then I wouldn't have almost failed it every year." she let out and little laugh.
"Vous etes tres belle." he murmured.
"Huh?" she asked, completely without a clue what he just said.
He chuckled. "It means, 'you are so beautiful." he started to trail kisses down her neck as she cooed softly at his compliment. He ran his hand down her bare side, over the curve of her hip and down her thigh. She loved it when he did this; letting her see that she was the only thing he saw in the world.
"I hate to ruin the moment, but I have class in forty-five minutes." she moaned breathlessly when he kissed the sensitive flesh behind her ear. He grumbled silently at what she said.
He brought his face up to kiss her lips softly, "I'll drive you there." he said before kissing her again, but this time it grew.
She broke away, breathless. "If we hurry, we could have a quicky in the shower." he met her gaze, then
picked her up and carried her into the bathroom.
Once he noticed he got her attention, he ran over to her, in his clod-like bunny hop sort of way. "Hey, huney." he grinned cheerfully. "I was looking for you, I got lost at Angel's place, and just got back from L.A." he lean in for a kiss, but Buffy shied away for obvious reasons.
"Um...Riley, things have changed while you were gone." she held up her engagement ring. It was a white gold band with a heart shaped diamond in the middle surround it on both sides but two sapphires half the size of the heart diamond. "I'm engaged now."
"To who, a millionaire? I haven't been gone that long, and now I suppose you're going to tell me that your pregnant and you live with him a in nice little house with a white picket fence." he said sarcastically.
"Well, not that it's any of your business, but yes, I am pregnant. But I don't have the other things, I plan to get them one day though." she said though she really didn't want to get into this right now, but she felt that tingle in the pit of her stomach, telling her Angel was near. Oh, my savior, she thought.
"So I guess this means, you don't love me." he stated. "I knew this would happen. I always thought that me and you would grow old to be wrinkly old people sitting in front of the television watching old movies and talking about the good old days..." as he went on and on, she cringed at the thought.
Then she felt strong, loving arms encircle her waist and warm lips kiss the scar on her neck, and a low, sexy voice say, "Hey, Baby." his hands caressed her abdomen, "and baby." he said to his unborn child.
"We both say 'hey'." she half-joked, placing her hands over his.
This made Riley snap out of his fantasy land. "What are you talking about?" then he noticed the man standing behind her, being very friendly to his girlfriend (NOT!!!). "Hey, Angel, get your hands off my girlfriend.
Angel couldn't help but laugh. "Your girlfriend? In case you haven't noticed, Riley, I'm engaged to Angel and having a child with Angel, I forgot about you a long time ago."
"That's right fish boy, she isn't and never was yours." he chuckled at Riley's 'I'm-gonna-cry-now' expression.
"Fine, then." he sniffed, "If you'd rather be with that vampire over me, then so be it." then he stomped off, but soon tripped over and risen tree room, and fell face first into the ground. They both laughed.
Then she turned in his arms to face him, "Now that, that's dealt with, I say we go back to the mansion and make up for lost time." she suggested.
"I'm all for that." he said, and they walked hand in hand toward his black convertible.
"Have I ever told you that I love your car?" she asked at he opened that door of the car for her.
"Once or twice this morning." he answered, closing it after her and walked around and got in himself,
giving her a quick kiss, then starting the car and driving away.
"It's me, Destiny." the person answered.
"Oh, come on in, Destiny." Willow said, closing her book and putting it back in her bag. The young girl opened the wooden door, and stepped in. At that moment Willow saw how much she looked like Buffy.
I bet she got her red hair from Angel's side, Willow thought, he is Irish after all. "So what brings you here?"
"I need some help in figuring something out. My mother won't tell me so I thought that you'd might know." Destiny told her.
"What is it?" Willow asked.
"I got this ring from my mom on Friday." she held it up for her to see, "It's supposed to let me know when Buffy and Angel are in danger or something. Yesterday it turned red, which is life threatening danger, but when I checked on them in my invisible form they were fine."
"So what do you want me to do?" Willow asked.
"I want you to keep an eye on them when I'm not around. I know that if something happens the ring will warn me, but there must have been something I missed, like something in the hospital she was at or..." Willow cut her off.
"What? Buffy was in the hospital? Since when?"
"Oh, she and Angel went to get an ultrasound done, or something. I don't get it, I guess modern technology in my time is not really, like, the same as this time." Destiny wrinkled her nose, "Was that a sentence?"
"You are so much like your mother." Willow mused. "Is wit something you inherit? If it is, I want to have witty parents too." Willow joked.
"So you think you can help me?" Destiny asked. She needed to be at her best friend's house in three minutes. Hannah wouldn't be very happy if she was late, again.
"Yeah, but how will I signal you if something seems of the dangerous variety?" she asked the young girl.
"This is my beeper number." she handed Willow a piece of scrap paper with a number scrawled on it.
"A beeper, why didn't I think of that." at least technology didn't change that much, she thought.
"Just call this number if anything happens and I'll be here like that." she snapped her fingers for emphasis. "And if you can't get to a phone or if it's a big huge immediate emergency, just send out a fire opal signal, and that will signal me too, okay?" Destiny was already late so she needed time to think up an excuse for being late.
"Okay, good think I just perfected that magical signal. Well," she said putting the piece of paper in the pocket of her jeans, "I guess you need to go now."
"Yeah, Danielle is going to kill me." Destiny exclaimed as she headed for the door. Willow chuckled softly at the way the girl was, in every way, I typical teenage girl, she saves the world every second day, but still has time to just hang out and veg.
"Okay. I'll be beepin' ya
soon." Willow said, as Destiny waved goodbye and, literally, disappeared
out the door. Willow shrugged, "Must be a sorceress trick or something." she shut the door and went back to her studying.
Go Go by B4-4 started playing. "Come on, play a slow song already." Buffy mumbled from her comfortable place on Angel's lap, his strong arms around her waist.
"Yeah, so you and Angel can go all gropey on the dance floor." Xander cracked. "It's been a long time since they had a D.J.. It's a nice change from the sometimes bad bands."
"That's the general idea, Xander." Buffy answered his first comment. "I think the bands are all good in their own way."
"I miss 'Dingoes Ate My Baby." Willow said, she was over Oz in the non constant missage, but it hurt once in a while.
"I sure everyone does." Tara said, trying to comfort her.
"This is boring, Xander. Let's go to your new apartment and have sex." Anya said bluntly.
Everyone gave them a look. "An, I thought we agreed to not say things like that in front of my friends, but I think it is time we leave." he said, grabbing their coats.
"See ya, lustbunnies." Buffy said, along with everyone else's good byes, and Xander and Anya left the table.
"That's the most sexually charged couple in the Scooby Gang." Dawn said to her friend, Melinda. Buffy and Angel stole a 'I think we can top them' look.
"I kinda figured that." she answered, and they both laughed. Melinda looked at her watch and said, "I have to be home a fifteen minutes, so I think I should go." she picked up her coat.
"Me and Tara will walk you both home." Willow told them, I have an exam to study for anyway.
"Yeah, I have should go too." Tara agreed. They wanted to let Buffy and Angel have some time alone.
"Okay, come on girls." Willow picked up her coat and left with Tara, Dawn, and Melinda.
"Bye, Will." Buffy called.
"Is it just me, or did that seem more then a little bit strange?" Angel pointed out. They all left in too much of a hurry.
"I think they wanted to give us some 'us' time." and turned her head to face him, "I'm not complaining, are you?" she asked in mock suspicion.
He chuckled, "Definitely not." he assured her and captured her lips in a passionate kiss, she shifted slightly to deepen the kiss. As usual the rest of the world fell away as they clung to each other. Somewhere in the back of her mind she remembered that they were still at the bronze.
"Angel," she said between kisses, when he moved his kisses to her neck she managed to say, "Honey. We're still at the bronze." he grumbled and stopped his attentions.
"Maybe after we finally get a slow song, we can go home." Angel gave her a sly smile.
"No complaints here." she agreed. Just then When Your Eyes Say It, by Britney Spears came on.
"Dance with me?" he asked.
"Of course." she got up off his lap and he led her to the dance floor.
I love to hear you say
That you love me.
With words so sweet.
And I love the way,
With just one whisper,
You tell me everything.
The song started with just talking, but Buffy and Angel didn't hear it, to them, they were the only people there, dancing to the gentle hum of their love for each other.
And when you say those
words,
It's the sweetest thing,
I've ever heard.
But when you eyes say
it.
That's when I know that
it's true.
I feel it,
I feel the love coming
through.
I know it,
I know that you truly
care for me,
'Cause it's there to
see.
When Your Eyes Say it.
"I forgot to ask you if you liked my dress." Buffy whispered to him. It was barely audible but he could hear her.
"I love your dress." he told her truthfully. Her dress was red, with no back. All that kept the dress on her were the spaghetti straps on her shoulders and the tie up stings cross-crossing on the back. "It's makes you look very sexy." she just giggled at complete lovesick male thing he said.
I love all the ways that
you show me,
You'll never leave.
And the way your kisses,
They always convince
me.
Your feelings run she
deep.
I love the things you
say.
And I love the love you
touch conveys.
She sighed and snuggled further into him embrace. "I love you." she whispered.
"I love you, too." he instinctively said. He was still worried that he would wake up and it would all be a dream. It just seemed too good to be true. Having this beautiful woman in his arms was like heaven to him.
But when your eyes say
it.
That's when I know that
it's true.
I feel it,
I feel the love coming
through.
I know it,
I know that you truly
care for me,
'Cause it's there to
see.
When your eyes tell me,
I know their not telling
lies.
They tell me,
All that you're feeling
inside.
And it sounds so right.
When your eyes say it,
Say it.
And they word they say,
Take my breath away.
No sound ever sounded
so sweet.
I love every way,
That they say to me
She would definitely have to get this CD. The word were so true, she realized this because she actually started listening. She loved the things he said to her without even saying anything. And being back in his arms again after so long thinking she never would be again, it was her heaven on earth, and every other place she ever will be.
But when your eyes say
it,
That's when I know that
it's true.
I feel it,
I feel the love coming
through.
I know it,
I know that you truly
care for me,
'Cause it's there to
see.
When your eyes tell me,
I know their not telling
lies.
They tell me,
All that you're feeling
inside.
And it sounds so right.
The song faded away, and a fast, rave song came on. "Let's go back to my place." he whispered in her ear.
"Yeah." she agreed, and they
pulled apart, grabbing their coats on the way out the door.
"Cordelia would kill me if I stay another day, and you have an exam and I would only distract you from studying. I will be back." he assured her.
"When?" She asked.
He didn't know if he should be making promises he wasn't sure he could keep, "A week or two." he told her, trying to keep things in perspective.
"A week or two? What am I supposed to do until then, hang out with my stupid oaf of an ex-boyfriend known a Riley Finn?" He gave her a look. "I just don't know if I can handle being along, what with my mom's condition, my condition, my own person stalker whom we all know and hate, study for my test and get a high enough mark to pass, plus the knowledge that the love of my live won't be back for another week or two." she wasn't mad at him, she just really didn't want him to go.
"You'll be fine. Besides you can call me whenever you want." he said, that made her a bit happier. "Now I have to go so I can miss the rush hour traffic." she frowned harder, bowing her head. "Hey, I'm not going to go without kissing you goodbye." he gave her one of his famous half smiles, she couldn't help but return.
"I'm still going to miss you." she said, making it clear.
"I'm counting on it." he told her and captured her lips in a long passionate good bye for now kiss, which left them breathless. "Just remember I love you."
"How could I forget. I'll see you in a week or two." she half joked.
"Yeah." giving her one final kiss he got in his car and drove away.
"God," she said to herself,
"I miss him already." then she turned and walked back to her dorm.
On to Deja Vu
