Who Will She Choose?

All characters belong to Joss. Welcome to Forever love, this is my first series which I plan to spend quite a bit of time on. The background you'll need for this is that Angel has made is amends and the Powers that be have made him human. So with Cordelia, Wesely,Doyle (Who never died) and Oz (Who's been helped Angel for two years) he moves back to Sunnydale. The series starts two days after his return.

Buffy walked slowly along the beach the wind blowing in her hair. It had been two days since Angel had returned to Sunnydale and dropped the bomb shell that he was now human and had thrown Buffy's life in to turmoil. Until he returned she had felt so sure that her future no matter how long it may be was with Riley but now that her one true love was back she wasn't so sure.

"Buffy!" She whirled around to see Riley running towards her and sighed. She had hoped to be on her own for a while to think things through and plus she hadn't told Riley Angel was back and was dreading having to tell him.

"Hey." He put an arm around her waist and planted a soft kiss on her cheek. She smiled back at him and tried to pretend nothing was wrong but she had learned that hiding things from Riley could be extremely hard. He took a closer look at her and frowned. "What's wrong?"

She smiled and realized she was right hiding Angels return was going to be very hard. "Nothing much, I was just thinking."

He frowned again "Do you want me to go?" The problem with Riley was that he could sometimes be so uncertain where she was concerned but she knew how deeply he cared for her and knew deep down he could give her a wonderful life.

Shaking her head she replied. "No that's okay, There was something I needed to talk to you about anyway." She took a deep breath and said "Angel's back." Buffy could see the look on Riley's face harden and he turned his head and look strait ahead.

"What does he want." She shuddered at the coldness in his voice.

"He's human." She glanced at Riley and could see the fear in his eyes.

"Are you going to go back to him?" they stopped walking and look at each other square in eye.

"I don't know. I love you but I love him to." That was when the tears came, she wasn't expecting them and wasn't too surprised when Riley made no move to comfort her.

"Well until you *decide* what you want give me a call." She was surprised by the sarcasm in his voice and was to busy to stop him walking off and instead sat down on the beach, buried her head in her arms and sobbed wondering why what Riley had said hurt so much.

Willow was worried. She hadn't heard from Buffy since Angel's return and couldn't seem to get in contact with her. She didn't think that Buffy could possibly take this well she knew how hard it wasn't two years ago when she was involved with Tara and Oz returned.

Just then she heard the door bell and ran to answer it hoping it would be Buffy. But it was Tara.

She couldn't keep the disappointment from her face "Oh hey." Tara smiled sympathetically.

"Buffy still not called?"

Willows face fell. "No and I'm worried she was so settled with Riley and, and now Angels back and she's all confused again and she won't talk to me so I can't help her." Tara took Willows hand and smiled.

"She'll come to you when she's ready I'm sure she's just feeling a bit confused right now." Willow smiled and her, Tara always seemed to know what to say to make her feel better and they sat down to watch the new Joshua Jackson film.

Angel sat in Giles living room and flipped through a book. He hadn't really been able to concentrate on any thing since he had last seen Buffy he hadn't meant to cause her so much trouble but he loved her and she had the right to know he was now human. While Angel was lost in thought Giles walked in and sat down. Angel had been staying with Giles since he had come back and had been looking for a place of his own. However had so far found nothing that suited him and he really wanted for Buffy to make her dissuasion so that she could find a place that she liked as well because he hoped that she would spend a lot of time there.

"Have you heard from Buffy?" He asked Giles and was disappointed when he shook his head as the door bell sounded. The two men looked at each other before Angel got up and opened to door to reveal Buffy her face streaked with tears. Angel barely had time to say her name until she threw herself into his arms and started to cry into his shoulder. Angel could do nothing but hold her as she let all her fears out.

Giles sensing that the two of them could use some time lone went into the kitchen to call Willow and tell her that Buffy was safe. But he could just hear Angel and Buffy whispering that they loved each other and smiled. Buffy would be fine.
