Telling Riley

Buffy and Angel spent the rest of the afternoon curled
up in each others arms talking and kissing every so often. Giles had discretely made his way over to
Joyce's to tell her that her daughter was safe.
"I take it this means your staying with me then?" Angel said looking down at Buffy. She smiled and
nodded "All I have to do is tell Riley, But I'm not sure how he'll take it."
Angel frowned. "How do you think he'll take it?"
"I don't know, I was thinking I'd tell him in the Bronze so that you can be near by discreetly in case
he.does anything." Seeing the panic in Angels eyes at the thought she might get hurt she chuckled and kissed
him softly "He won't do anything with so many people around." Angel relaxed again and they sat quietly for
a few minutes before Buffy had to call Riley and get ready for the Bronze.
Buffy and Angel walked into the Bronze separately and
sat down on opposite sides of the room. With Angel keeping an eye on her Buffy could honestly say that
she felt safer than she had since he left.
"You called?" Buffy was brought out of her thoughts by Riley and smiled nervously, "Hi." She attempted to
smile but Riley just gazed back at her coldly and what ever doubts she was having about what she was about to
do disappeared at least she'd tried to be nice.
"I'm staying with Angel. Having him back after so long has made me realise just how much I need and love him.
He's the only one I want to be with for the rest of my life." As she finished she looked Riley strait in the
eyes and could tell he was slightly surprised that she was breaking up with him. And all he could manage to
say was a feeble "What?"
"I love him, I always have and I always will." Buffy said in as simple terms as she could manage with out
rolling her eyes and realised Riley really was an idiot.
"But.But I'm so much better than him! I'm stronger and I haven't killed anyone!"
"Riley! Grow up! I want to be with Angel, he's sweet kind and can actually grasp simple thoughts! And HE
didn't kill anyone Angelus did!" And with that she walked away leaving Riley open mouthed and surprised
and made her way towards Angel and wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him passionately before
leading him to the dance floor as a slow song began to play.
