Catfight
This is a reply to Leonie's Birthday challenge on
BuffAngLoveImmortal list. Which must be: Fluffy, Buffy and human Angel are living together and they decide to
take a cat.. But the cat is a pain in the ass and therefore they are calling it Spike because he's also
so irritating. Spike and Cat Spike are best buds, Cat Spike having sharp nails which he likes to use all the
time.Riley being there but is a dumb Iowaboy who still is after Buffy Riley being turned into a mouse Cat
Spike eats him. The other couple's should be S/F, W/O, C/D and X/A.
I'm changing it slightly so that Willow is with Tara so that it fits into the Forever love series.
Everything belongs to Joss but I suppose the cat would be Leonie's.
Buffy sat in her and Angels new house and flipped
through a magazine. She had been looking for ideas of how to decorate the living room since they moved in
because if she was honest the previous occupants had no taste.
"Honey?" She shouted to Angel who was at that moment in the kitchen unpacking the food that they had just
brought at the supermarket.
"Yeah?" He replied wondering why if she wanted to talk to him she didn't just come into the kitchen.
"Do you know what we're missing in this house?" She looked up at Angel who just had a blank look on his
face "A pet." Of all the things that he had expected that wasn't one of them.
"A pet? Like what."
"I've always wanted a cat."
"Honey, I think I'm allergic." Buffy scoffed loudly at him.
"You've been a vampire for 250 years and have only been human for 3 months, how would you know?"
"I'm guessing." Buffy pouted up at him and did her version of his puppy dog eyes look which she knew he
wouldn't be able to resist.
Angel sighed, He didn't really want a cat, but if it made Buffy happy then he decided he could probably
live with it.
"Okay, but on one condition. I don't have to clear out its sandbox." Buffy jumped up and hugged him.
"Great! We can go to the pet store now." Getting up she grabbed her bag and started towards the door
before turning round, "You coming." Sighing again, Angel followed his girlfriend out the door.
Walking into the pet store and seeing all the kittens,
Angel had to admit they we're all pretty cute. Buffy immediately rushed over to the kittens and picked up a
black one with a small white smudge on its nose.
"Oh, Angel! Look at this one isn't it gorgeous!" The kitten snuggled against her chest and Angel smiled the
kitten was adorable and seemed pretty taken with Buffy.
"You wanna hold it?" Angel nodded and reached out to take the kitten but as Buffy handed it to him the
kitten extended it's claws and scratched Angel's hand.
"Oww!" He cried handing the kitten back to Buffy quickly and cradling his injured hand. Looking down on
Buffy he expected to see a sympathetic look in her eyes but was instead met with the sight of the Slayer
trying not to giggle. "Buffy you could at least be a little concerned." He scowled down at her which only
made her laugh harder.
"We could name him Spike! Since he doesn't like you either!"
"Oh, thank you sweet heart you always say the nicest things."
"Oh Angel you know I don't mean it but the names perfect. Come on lets get some toys and food." Buffy
walked off towards the toy isle while Angel followed behind carrying a basket that the couple slowly filled
with things for they're new kitten. By the time they paid for everything including the cat, Angel was
surprised that the cost came to nearly $60.
After paying the cashier, Buffy carried Spike out of the store while Angel followed with all Spikes stuff
and he got the feeling having a pet was not going to agree with him.
"Buffy he's so cute." Willow was fawning over little
Spike and the kitten was obviously enjoying it.
"I know Will. The moment I saw him in the store I knew he was perfect!" Angel rolled his eyes at his
girlfriend's words. The cat was anything but perfect. It had kept him awake half the night before crying in
the kitchen where Buffy had left him and Angel was now covered in scratches where the kitten had clawed him
and he was now beginning to agree with Buffy, Spike was the perfect name for something so annoying.
"Bloody hell what's that?" Angel groaned as vampire Spike walked into the room, he'd moved into the
basement of Buffy and Angel's new home and this was the first time he'd emerged long enough to meet the
kitten named after him.
Buffy looked up and smiled at Spike and held up the kitten. "Spike, this is Angel and my new kitten, we
named him Spike after you." Spike looked at her as if she had grown another head.
"Why did you name it after me?"
Buffy grinned at Willow who grinned back since she had already heard where the name was from. "Well, he hates
Angel and annoys the hell out of him, so since you do the same calling him Spike seemed like a good idea."
Spike broke into a wide smiled and picked up the kitten which seemed to take an instant like in him as
it started to purr as Spike stroked it's belly.
"By the way luv, that wanker Riley was here when you were at your mums, looking for you, I said you'd be
back soon so he said he'd be back in an hour." Just then there was a knock on the door and Spike grinned,
"Which would be now." Flopping down into a chair he devoted all of his attention to the cat after looking
up at his sire who looking worried sat down next to Willow as Buffy went to the door and sure enough there
was Riley.
"Hi Buffy. I was umm wondering if we could talk."
"Umm sure. Lets go out back and sit down." Buffy led Riley around the side of the house and sat down on a
bench in the large garden.
"So what did you want to talk to me about?"
"Well I wanted to apologize for what I said at the Bronze I wasn't very fair, dumping you like that and
was wondering if you would give me another chance?"
Buffy looked at him in shock. What was he on about? She'd dumped him for Angel not the other way around!
Riley looked up at her with a hopeful look on his face. "So what do you say?"
Mean while back inside Willow as proudly telling Angel
how she and Tara had managed to turn a bird into a mouse and back again. "You want to see?" She asked him
excitedly.
"Umm, Sure why not?" He replied, "Lets go round the back that way Buffy can see you as well." Motioning to
Spike her followed carrying little Spike they made their way round the side of the house.
"Hey Buffy, wanna see Will turn a bird into a mouse?" Spike shouted out. Buffy looked up and nodded pleased
for the distraction from Riley. Slowly, Willow began to recite the spell. Then spotting a bird she pointed
but cat Spike chose that moment to get away from the vampire and jumped strait into Willow's path quickly
moving her hand, She manage to point at Riley who, turning into a mouse was quickly eaten by Cat Spike.
The grouped looked on in shock as this happened until Willow broke the silence. "Whoops?" She guiltily said
until Spike burst out laughing. "Spike! It isn't funny!"
"It bloody well is! That was perfect ending for a fish!" Shooting him a dirty look Buffy scoped up the
kitten and headed back in the house and quietly the others followed
