Feel No Pain
Disclaimer: I do not own Buffy or Angel I do own Shane, Carol and Jill though, He he.
IMPORTANT NOTE:This story is some what written as if you where watching it on tv so the [e.s] means establishing shot and the [c.t] mean cut to. I know no one likes to give feedback but I would really love an e-mail at least saying nice fic or i didn't like it. Please i want to know what you guys think, it's my first fanfiction story! Thanx enjoy!
[e.s] over a small town, it's about mid december and the snow is falling. There is a small lake and the town isn't leveled there are hills and the land is all over the place.
[c.t] a large but some what old house with a long drive way, it looks like it might be in the country side, lots of tress and a large backyard.
We see Buffy open the front door and step on to the porch, she is wearing a long black leather jacket and black pants that are quite tight with black leather boots, her hair is up in a simple pony tale she has gloves on and ear muffs. We know this isn't Sunnydale and we suspect that some time has passed (let's say that she's 27). She locks the door walks down a few steps and gets into her black jeep. The jeep drives right past the camera.
[c.t] Buffy walking into a class room. We can see that the she is a teacher at a local College.
[c.t] The camera is behind Buffy we can see students getting in to the class and some are already seated. The bell rings and everyone hurry's to there sets.
Buffy:" So what can you tell me from reading act 3 scene 1 of Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet'?"
Girl Student: "You can tell clearly that Romeo has deeply fallen for this girl, he is determined to win her love."
Girl Student no. 2: "I don't think it's love I think he is infatuated be her beauty and is totally lost in her."
Buffy: " Why do you think that? Do you believe that Shakespeare wanted everyone to believe that it was love at first sight?
Girl Student no. 2: " That was what Shakespeare wanted his audience to believe but I don't believe the passion they shard when they first met can be described as love, there wasn't enough grief when the two found out about who they really were"
[c.t] the end of class.
Buffy: " I want you to read the rest of the book this weekend and we will talk about the report requirements on Monday."
The bell rings and everyone is heading out the door.
[c.t] Buffy erasing the writing of the chock board.
Buffy feels a pair of arms rap around her. She turns around, smiles and gives the man a quick kiss on the lips. He tries to kiss her again but she puts a finger to his lips.
Buffy:"Maybe we shouldn't a mean, you never know who might be spying".
Shane: "You're right ( he pulls away and takes a few steps back)...so you want to go to dinner tonight?"
Buffy: "I know you really want to go out tonight but you know I have a busy schedule"
Shane: "come on we haven't been out in more than a week"
Buffy: " Shane...you know I have a lot of marking, as do you and I have to go see Lauren she said she had the dress ready for me."
Shane: " But you said we'd go out tonight. You can do the marking on Sunday and well go pick the dress on our way back from dinner."
Buffy: "You know Lauren it's not that simple I can't be there for 2 min. She's gonna want to chat and well you know how it is."
Shane: "Fine, you win like always, but you have to let me cook dinner tonight."
Buffy: "It's a deal."
[c.t] Buffy walking out of Lauren's house saying thank you's and I'll call you. It's night as Buffy heads to her car.
[c.t] Buffy walking into the living room were the table is set with candle light.
Buffy: "Shane?"
[c.t] Shane fast asleep on the coach with the tv on buffy walks over and takes the controller slowly from his hand and turns the tv off. She smiles and heads over to the table blows out the candle and heads up the stairs.
[c.t] Buffy in her pj's setting on the edge of her bed with only the night lamp on, she lets her hair out of the pony tale and opens the night stand drawer. She looks oddly at something. Then pulls it out from under a book.
[c.t] a picture of her, Willow, Anya, Xander, Dawn and Giles. She outlines Dawns face with her finger.
It had been a long time since she had seen the gang, Dawn visited her almost a year ago and she hadn't seen anyone for the last 2 and a half years. The Hell mouth had closed, She had fought the end of day's and nearly got herself killed and Buffy was relieved of her duty as slayer by the watchers council. She decided the best thing to do was to move far away from Sunnydale so she could star fresh. So she moved to Maryland, wanting a fresh star with nothing to remind her of the demons and darkness she was once surrounded by. There she finished her education and became a english professor. She found a boyfriend who now lived with her. Shane talked about marriage and a family but Buffy knew she wasn't ready and Shane excepted that. Thinking about Sunnydale, made her think of him. She hated thinking about him because she caused him so much pain before she left, and as much as she wants to stop thinking about him and move on with her life, there hasn't been a day in her life that at least one thought of him would enter her mind. She would always wonder what he has doing, was he thinking of her? She wanted desperately to talk to him to a apologize but that would be no good over the phone and she definitely couldn't go see him in person it'd be too painful. She put the picture back and fell asleep.

Angel:"You're leaving?"
Buffy:"I'm sorry Angel but I can't stay here, I've done my duty, now it's time for you to do yours"
Angel:"I need you Buffy...but if that's what you want, if that will make you happy then that;s fine with me, be happy, live like a normal person just like you always dreamed" Buffy could see though his eyes, she could see the truth and it hurt her more than anything she could bare. He needed her and she could see that, and if she left now they might never see each other. But she knew better than to give into her temptations and to tell him that this might be the last time they'll see each other.
Buffy:"I'll see soon, Angel"
Angel nods as him and Buffy come closer to hug. Angel has a few tears falling down his cheeks, they separate and he can see that Buffy is surprised to see Angel crying. Her voice is shaky and cracks
Buffy: "Oh Angel (he puts her hand on his cheek and he closes his eyes savoring her touch) please, don't "
She has a tear running down her cheek, he opens his eyes to find her closer to his face, they have a soft simple kiss, she looks at him one more time and gets into her car and drives off leaving Angel in the night all alone.

[c.t] Buffy waking up in a cold sweat, she had dreamt that so many times but tonight it was more tense, more real than before.
[e.s] The camera shows the the city at night lit up in Christmas lights, it's snowing gently. It's december 29.
[c.t] Shane coming into the house and stomping his feet on the carpet to get the snow off.
Shane:"Buffy?"
[c.t] Buffy walking down the stairs.
Buffy: "Go get dressed, you have 20 min."
Shane: "what about you missy you're not even dressed."
Buffy: "don't worry about me you just worry about getting your ass up those stairs and dressed".
Buffy and Shane went to dinner to a very fancy restaurant because Shane was leaving for Detroit the next morning to spend New Years with his family. Buffy lied and sad she was going to Sunnydale, she had always lied to him about that because he didn't know the truth about her, he had met her sister the year before and he didn't know much about her friends back in sunnydale or who she was before the hell mouth closed, she kept it hidden well.
[c.t] Shane an Buffy kissing at the airport right before the plane leaves.
[c.t] Shane giving the flight attendant the ticket.
[c.t] Buffy just standing there.
Buffy turns around and starts to make her way around all the people, she goes over to the cafe to get a coffee. She is standing in line then looks to her right, and almost faints when she thinks she sees him walking by. She runs out of the cafe and looks around only to find no one who looks like him, a relief washes over her and she thinks to herself 'what is going on with me?'
December 31 around 8 pm
Buffy hears a car honk from outside and she runs out side, Her friend Jill is waiting for her in the car with another girl named Carol. She gets into the back seat.
Jill: "WOW! Buffy you look stunning"
Buffy:"Thanx, I try." She smiles. She is wearing dress that is light blue it has no straps, the material of the dress is see though and it looks as if some one wrapped it around her like a mummy. It stops about 5 inches from her knees and then looks like someone cut the rest of it in long thick strips that have more than one layer so as she walks the float around her. Her shoes are on small heals they are also light blue the are open except for a thin strip near her toes. She wears her long jacket on top. Her hair is parted slightly to the side and is super straight it is long and falls just at her chest and half way down her back. The girls go out to a club down town near the lake. "We need a Resolution" by Aalyiah is playing loud. At around 2 Buffy is tiered of all the guys hitting on her and because she's getting a headache. Buffy Walks through the crowd looking for her friends she finds Carol dancing with a guy. She signals her over and Carol walks up to her.
Buffy (screaming over the loud music):"I'm going home I don't feel well I'll catch a cab home"
Carol: "Are you sure? Do you have enough money to take a cab all the way home?"
Buffy: "Yeah I'm sure, I'll be fine. Don't worry I have enough money, tell Jill to call me okay?"
Carol: "Okay, take it easy honey"
They exchange a kiss on the cheek and Buffy heads for the door.
[c.t] The back of a man's body healing a cab. He opens the door and gets in.
Cab driver: "Were too?"
Man: "129 river dale"
The cab driver looks in the mirror at the man in the back seat.
[c.t] Angel's face in the mirror.
It starts to snow.
[c.t] Buffy in the cab looking at her watch.
[c.t] Angel looking out the window as the snow flakes cover the window.
[c.t] Buffy's cab drives slowly up her long driveway.
Buffy gets out and quickly gets wet the cab pulls back and out of the driveway. The porch light comes on and she gets into the house.
[c.t] Angel's cab driving up Buffy's drive way.
[c.t] Buffy taking of her jacket and hanging it up.
[c.t] Angel setting in the cab in front of Buffy's house, his face shows no statement totally nothingness. He takes some money out of his pocket and hands it to the driver.
Cab Driver: "You okay buddy?"
Angel doesn't respond. He gets out and shuts the door behind him. The cab drives off.
[c.t] Angel's face. It's still snowing and the snow flakes are make his face wet.
[c.t] Buffy getting out of the bathroom she is in her white robe.
[c.t] Angel now in front of Buffy's door.
[c.t] Buffy coming down the stairs because she hears the hot water ready she takes the caddie and sets down on a the table. She goes over to grab the cup of the table, but she notices that the porch light is on.
[c.t] Angel he is ready to knock on the door but then rests his hand on the door instead.
[c.t] Buffy with her ear to the door and her hand in the same place Angel has his hand.
[c.t] Angel ready again to knock.
Look into my eyes, you will see
what you mean to me
But before he can the door swings open, and there before his eyes is his on true love.
[c.t] Buffy's face. She looks as if she's seen a ghost. She opens her mouth to say something but nothing comes out.
[c.t] Angel who looks like he might cry.
Search your heart search your soul
Angel:"Buffy(long pause)"
and you find then you'll search no more
Buffy(very gently): "Angel(searching his eyes for a reason)...hi"
don't tell me it's not worth trying for
They stare at each other for another moment, each taking in what they are seeing.
can't tell me it's not worth dyeing for
Angel: "Buffy....I um"
Buffy(cuts him off): "you're cold, come in."
Buffy opens the door so there is enough room for him to walk in. Angel walks in and stops as he reaches Buffy, he turns and looks at her again, hey star for a second and then she closes the door.
[c.t] buffy she is facing the door, she closes her eyes and inhales.
[c.t] Angel taking his jacket off
[c.t] Buffy taking it from him and hanging it up in the closet beside the door.
[c.t] Buffy and Angel sitting in the kitchen, Buffy is standing making tea and Angel is seated at the table.
Buffy:"Sager?"
Angel:"please"
Buffy sets the cup in front of Angel.
Angel:"thanks"
Buffy takes a sip of her tea.
Angel (breaks the silence):"I'm sorry"
Buffy looks up her face shows confusion.
Buffy:"For what?"
Angel:"for(pause) coming here like this..I should have.."(buffy cuts his off)
Buffy: "It's okay, you don't have to apologize...I'm glad to see you"
As soon as Buffy said those worlds Angel felt his heart beating extremely fast. Angel had became human 2 months ago, it all happened when he saved this girl from a demon, she was grateful for his efforts, she was no ordinary girl she could see inside him she new what he was thinking, she could feel how much he hurt because of Buffy. She was also connected to the outside world. So she turned him human and told the powers that be she would find a warrior for them. Angel thought about telling Buffy, but what would be the point he thought. She was probably happy, married maybe children, he didn't want to intrude and ruin what she had. After slow days and long nights, he came to the conclusion she deserved to know, he prepared for the worst, he had no intention of trying to make her love him again, all he wanted was to tell her, so she knew so that she could be proud of him. After searching for her across the country he finally found her. And now he was face to face with her, she was just as beautiful as he remembered her, she hadn't changed, just looking at her made his skin burn and his hands shake.
Buffy:"Angel?"
he snapped out of his thoughts
Angel:"Sorry."
Buffy:"You okay?"
Angel:"Fine"
Buffy looked down into her cup.
Angel:"So...um I"
Buffy:"Angel is there something wrong you seem so distant?"
Angel:"no there's nothing wrong just..i can't think right now...seeing you is"
Buffy:"I know. It's hard..it's been a while, a lot has changed."
Angel:"Yeah. A lot has changed"
Buffy:"Angel...what are you doing here?"
Angel felt his heart skip and chill ran down his spin.
Buffy:"I mean...is there a reason you're here?"
Angel:"A reason?"
Angel scanned the room his eyes landed on the fridge were a picture of Shane and Buffy hung be a magnet. It suddenly hit him and he knew he shouldn't. Angel gets off the chair and heads for the door.
Buffy:"Angel, where are you going?"
She runs after him the are at the door. Angels head is down.
Angel:"I'm so sorry buffy, I'm sorry I came here, and intruded on your life, I'm sorry there is this awkward feeling between us, I'm sorry it has to be this way."
he turns to open the door but Buffy stops him be shutting the door with her hand.
Buffy (concerned and a bit angry):"You're not leaving, you're going to tell me what's wrong, you can't come here after all this time and just leave without telling my what the hell is going on."
They are standing facing each other Buffy's hand is still on the door holding it shut.
Angel's head is down but when he lefts it Buffy sees tears, and all the anger escapes her, and she looks at him painfully. With her hand she slowly approaches his face to wipe e the tears, when Angel feels her touch he closes his eyes and can't imagine anything better than her touch.
He takes her hand from his face and slowly and gently places it on his heart. She stops breathing and everything is spinning she feels her knees weak and she stares at her hand on his chest, she realizes why he came and why he was so emotional, he was human. Her body felt hot and her head began to pound. She looked up at him with tears.
Buffy(very quietly but her voice is shaky):"Human?"
Angel nods tears still in his eyes. He can feels his head getting lighter with each second and his throat aches, he swallows as Buffy's face comes closer. Only a inch away from each other now, Buffy puts her hand on his face a draws him closer, there lips meet and the world his spinning away, it's just them, everything goes hallow and they can only see each other, can only feel each other, only know that this is the greatest feeling in the world. The kiss is slowly and beautiful, it feels like heaven, and as Buffy opens her mouth Angel tenderly slips his tongue in, and the sensation overwhelms her, they kiss until Buffy can no longer breath. She pulls away so she can breath but is still inches from his lips, she is breathing hard and looks deep into his eyes, reassuring her self that this is the only man she wants to be with.
[c.t] Angel laying Buffy down on the bed
[c.t] buffy taking angels shirt off as they kiss
[c.t] Buffy faces as angel kisses her neck
[c.t] Angels bare back and Buffy's arms around him pulling him closer as she moves on top of her with rhythm.
[c.t] the side of there faces, it's dark so it's just the outline of there faces. Both their mouths are open and as the cum they kiss
[c.t] top shout of Angel's back again.
[c.t] (still on top of Buffy) the side of Angel's faces he is breathing hard and his lips are beside Buffy's ear.
Angel(very very quietly and out of breath): "I love you Buffy"
[c.t] Buffy's face she closes her eyes and kisses his neck.
Buffy: "I never stooped"
Angel stayed away for a no longer than a 2 weeks after Shane came back. Buffy was having a hard time telling Shane the news, they would see each other late nights and make love they talked about their future and how much they missed each other over the years.
They would take walks and have snowball fights and share passionate kisses under the moonlight. They had everything they ever wanted.
[e.s] it's clearly the end of June, mid day. The camera shows Buffy and Angel's house from the top.
[c.t] Buffy on the phone in the kitchen.
Buffy:"that's right the 28th of August...I know, me neither"
Angel walks in wearing a black tank top and sweat pants, holding a towel and water in the other.
Angel:"Hello gorgeous
gives Buffy a kiss on the cheek, she makes a funny face because he's sweaty and puts a finger to her lip to indicate for him to be quite.
Angel:"fine."
Buffy:"Can you hold on a sec Will (puts the phone down looks at Angel, he is showing her puppy dog eyes) you want a kiss fine here's your kiss."
She start to kiss Angel really passionately. She breaks free smiles at him turns around and pick up the phone a starts to talk to Willow again. Angel just stands there a bit dazed.
Buffy: "Okay will, call me soon then. Okay bye love ya."
Buffy looks over at Angel. Angel changed a lot since they got together, he seems more alive than she had ever seen him, the happiest she had ever seen him and that made her happy and in less than 3 months they were getting married, like they always dreamed. The perfect wedding with the perfect couple was just around the corner. Buffy had invited all the scoobys to come, she had to call England to get a hold of Giles and when she finally did he was more than happy to hear from her and excepted the invitation to the wedding. Unfortunately her dad was now where to be found so she thought she would ask Giles to walk her down the ale.
Buffy: "Go take a shower, change and then you're leaving."
Angel: "Um no."
buffy head shot up
Buffy:"Why not? I thought we"
Angel:"I have a better idea...how about me and YOU take a shower and then we'll go out?"
Buffy(Sort of a whiny voice): Angel...
Angel: "all right I guess you're not up for it tonight."
Buffy takes a few steps closer to Angel so that they are really close.
Buffy:"We'll see about that later."
[c.t] Angel smiling
[c.t] Angel and Buffy walking, in the background he can see that it's a carnival.
[c.t] Buffy's face
Buffy:"I can't believe how much you've changed Angel, i mean you're a totally deferent person then I remember."
Angel:"Is that bad cause you know I could go back to the way i was..if that's what you want."
Buffy:"No. that's not how I meant it, what I meant was.."
Angel:"I know what you meant Buffy..it's all right, it's just that you bring this out of me you're like my light at the end of a tunnel, everything is so clear when I'm with you."
Buffy smiles feeling relived. They have fun the rest of the night, enjoying themselves.
[c.t] Buffy and Angel walking hand in hand down a street., it late.
Buffy:"So I think white roses will look the best, what do you think"
Angel:"Whatever you want is what we'll get."
Buffy:"Come on Angel I need your help, I can't do this alone."
Angel:"I think white roses will look beautiful."
[c.t]Buffy smiling. She stops and makes Angel face her.
Buffy:"This is why."
Angel:"This is why what"
Buffy:"Why I love you so much, I don't know how anyone can make me feel this way, you always think about me before yourself or anyone else."
Angel:"You're all I care about Buffy..you know that. You know I'd die for you..you know I'd love you no matter what, you're my life."
Buffy kisses Angel softly on the lips.
Unexpectedly someone lunges at them. We can't really tell what's happening, it looks as if someone is fighting with Angel. Then there is a gun shot. Angel punches the guy in the face and he drops his gun. Angel turns around to see if Buffy's okay only to discover she's on the floor with a bullet in her chest. The attacker runs off.
Angel:"Buffy! NO!"
Angel runs and falls to his knees, looking down at Buffy, her eyes are open and she can barely breath. He is holding her, her blood covering his hands.
Buffy(choked up):"Angel...what happened?
What is this love I leave behind
Angel(tears running dow his face because of what he is seeing): "It's going to be okay, you'll be fine, don't worry the ambulance will be here soon, just hold on."
how can i turn from the tears in your eyes
Buffy:"Oh Angel..(she lefts a hand up to his face) don't cry."
what is this world where we also pretend
She coughs and terror is on Angel's face.
That it's worth it worth it in the end
Buffy: "listen to me Angel (pause) I want you to know..
what is this life that I just throw away
Angel:"No! NO!"
is this love that causes so much pain
what is the promise that i leave behind
why can't I just lie beside you again
he hugs her, his face against hers, she's cold.
Buffy:"Angel there isn't enough time, please (he holds her hand as he looks at her)...I want you to know that you're everything to me, I've never stooped loving you the whole time we were apart, I never will."
What's going on? How'd it get so wrong
Angel(shaky and pleading):"please Buffy, don't do this, I can't live with out you please"
A tear rolls down Buffy's cheek.
Buffy:"I love you Angel..I never doubted that".
Angel:"I love you too Buffy.."
Buffy: "I wish it didn't have to end (cough) this way, I wish that we could have had childern I wish I could died when I'm old, not like this."
Angel: "Me too."
What is this dream that I'll never find?
What is the prayer that's stealing my mind?
Angel strokes Buffy's hair. Her eyes are open but he knows she only has a few seconds left.
What is this deal that I have made with fate?
He goes to kiss her and she takes all the strength inside her and kisses him ever so gently with her hand on his face.
He stops and looks at her still very close, she smiles and her hand falls as her eyes close.
And I wonder if i have left to too late?
Angel looks pale and stares at her for a second then begins to sob uncontrollably, he rocks her back and forth say don't leave me, don't leave me.
Angel looks up in to the stars of the night.
Angel:"Buffyyyy!!!"
[c.t] Angel holding the gun to his head with his eyes closed, he looks at peace. The gun goes off.
[c.t] Angel fallen on Buffy.
What's going on? How'd it get so wrong?
What's going on? How'd it get so wrong?
(The music plays into the background)
There is and ambulance in the background. The camera is at a top view and we see a pool of blood surrounding them.
[c.t] two grave stones next to each other.
Printed on them it says.
Buffy & Angel
Destined to be together till the end of time
Nothing will change that.
Not god nor heaven nor hell
Nor the destruction of this very universe can ever keep them apart.
There love will last longer than forever. Their love will over come all
It will never fade or show the slightest darkness
Death could never keep them apart .
For they are together even now.
